"OmG tHE DrAke Pfp iS FiNalLy rATiNg A DraKe aLbUm!" Yes, yes I am, I'm not even a Drake fan, but mark this day in history! Anyway, this album is good and is easily one of Drake's best albums. Drake sounds "hungry", if you will, on this album and says his lyrics with his chest (at least on the rap portions/songs on this album). The beats, arguably, might not be the best (EXCEPT FOR POUNDCAKE) and Drake making songs about girls and relationships is an overused topic for a ... read more
After many many MANY washed allegations and multiple controversies Kanye had throughout 2022 and 2023, I didn't really have hope for this project at all. I heard snippets of the album every now and again, but they sounded unfinished and they didn't really stand out to me. With Kanye seemingly going crazy and the album receiving delay after delay (and Nicki not letting Kanye use the New Body verse), I thought this was going to be pretty bad. I watched both of the album Listening Party ... read more
Pretty personal album. The album makes this very clear during the first track where it literally says, "Kill Jay-Z, they'll never love you". Pretty harsh start to an album, but it sets the tone that Jay wants for this album moving forward. This album is not a braggadocious album at all, it is down-to-earth and raw. The production of this album is great and I love the samples that each song has. Jay talks about multiple topics on this album including ego, infidelity, money, culture, ... read more
First mixtape I've ever listened to and reviewed. I don't know if you could already tell how I feel about this from how I rated it, but I love it. 'Coloring Book' is such a good mixtape. It blends gospel, hip-hop, and a little bit of jazz into a beautiful work of art that is this project. All of the production and the blending of genres in these songs sound so good and a lot of these songs are bops. Not only is the production good, but the lyrics varying from track to track also have a lot of ... read more
I don't even know where to begin with this album. Kendrick is well-known and praised for his introspective lyrics, storytelling, genius lyrics, etc. Well, this album has it all. This is where it all started going up for Kendrick Lamar. This album has a very unique cinematic feel to it. It follows Kendrick Lamar as a teenager and the experiences he has in his home city of Compton. The experiences range from violence, gang violence, sex, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, and even death. Kendrick on ... read more
Love this album. Every song on this album is a pretty popular song, I mean, on Spotify, the platform that I use to listen to albums, all of the songs on this 17-song album have at least 100 million listens. AT THE VERY LEAST. ALL OF THEM. That alone should go to show how popular this album is. Not only is this album pretty popular and a lot of people have at least heard of or listened to one song on this album (looking at you Sicko Mode), but the album itself is great overall. Sicko Mode is ... read more
