This is so haunting. Whilst I love Molina’s country-rock stuff like Magnolia, this was a perfect reminder of what an amazing singer he is. He definitely thrives in this stripped-back setting
It dips a few times on occasions, but always manages to come back stronger. If it wasn’t for some of those weaker moments I think I’d actually rate this higher than lonesome crowded west

Was expecting to really love this when I saw the midwest emo and post-rock tags. Sadly just found it a bit boring, but some of the songs were great like Two Promises and the title track
