Youngboys whiney delivery gets really old really fast over basic production and subpar lyrics and no concepts for songs.
Great project from Action Bronson he hits you with his usually comedic and lyrics bars all over smooth Alchemist samples.
Not a bad project but is starting to get a little formulaic for Westside. Has a couple of good tracks but none of Gunns best work. Madlibs production is awesome however with Westsides crazy adlibs.
Just sounds like Jay-Z's most uninspired project. Production is fine and Hov's bars aren't on the level you expect from a GOAT like him. This album does have a few very strong track standouts that boost its rating however.
One of the best track lists ever put together, truly just hit after hit and some of the best production I have ever heard. Super memorable and enjoyable tracks, just an incredible album
Benny the Butcher makes another amazing track list of super raw and aggressive rhymes. The features and song concepts are amazing as well. It feels like a good mix of Bennys matured sound while still tapping into his grimy mix tape sound.
Brents attempt at a concept album and he does well while still giving you super catchy melodies. His ballads of sex and drugs are super intense and backed up with his amazing voice. There is very few poor moments on this album and his writing has improved since F**k the World.
Some of Conways deepest and most introspective writing, the emotion he put into this is unmatched. You get super emotional cuts as well as some super grimy and raw Griselda soundscapes. Amazing listen
Denzels lyricism and pen game on this album is his best yet. Super futuristic production and Denzel always comes with super unique flows. Amazing concept that he executed well, which makes this a super consistent and easy listen
Another amazing Kendrick project with super deep and catchy songs. He executes on another amazing concept which makes him go even more introspective than he was on DAMN. An amazing listen and another gem Kendrick adds to his catalogue
On this album it doesn't sound like Drake is trying anymore. The album has a few bright spots on a couple of tracks but also has some of drakes worst writing. Way 2 Sexy is super corny and the pairing of Thug, Future and Drake together proves that it doesn't work.
Great follow up to 1999, super smooth and catchy flows and melodies. Amazing jazzy production that joey rides super well. The features were mostly good as well, only song I didn't downright like was the Chris Brown track. Overall awesome listen and stacks up well against other albums of the year
Easily Mac's most laid back and calm project. So many amazing songs to vibe out to, its one of his best mixtapes.
The production on this album is done well and Gunna always flows well over bouncy trap drums, however all the subject matter is similar if not the same from track to track and that goes for Gunnas flows too. There isn't a particular bad song on this album because gunna sticks to the formula that works for him on every song which leads to a project that all blends together and sounds like one big Gunna song. Dollaz On My Head is fire though.
Metro Boomin does an amazing job sequencing and curating the tracks on this project, they all flow into one another and the pacing is incredible too. The content matter is sub par on most songs but No More is an incredible introspective banger. All the artist performances are well done as well. A lot of the songs are pretty formulaic for the trap sub genre but this is one of my favorite trap albums that has been released
Kanye's take on experimental hip hop and he does pretty well, lot of stand outs on the track list and this is easily Kanye's most braggadocios album. Excellent execution from a mainstream artist releasing experimental sounds. Some of the tracks I'm not huge fans sonically however
The only reason to listen to this project is to see how far 21 has come. Production is poor, mixing is bad and 21's lyrics, flow and delivery is even worse
