Drake - MAID OF HONOUR
20

This is just a messy and one sided album, Drake continues using his usually weird and embarrassing sexual lyricism. The production is just impossible to like, so bland and repetitive. Some features are just pure garbage and Drake using accents for them is just so gross and unnecessary. A lot of moments are scummy and immeasurably cringe. Just bad in all aspects, also, poor mom, imagine having your face showed in this incredibly bad project.

Drake - HABIBTI

There’s nothing to this. Drake just completely ignored any lyrical depth and any way of making this production sound atleast remotely appealing. Unbelievably boring and utterly unnecessary.

Drake - ICEMAN
86

Iceman is a fun album with a gimmicky and fresh drake twist. The songs are mostly catchy and well composed, and very well managed in fast motion. Some hooks and more boring tracks are just there, kind of slowing down the flow. Lyrics are mostly mature but still flawed and fat at times, but they definitely have their bright moments. In general, it’s very interesting and definitely an appreciated experience.

Fugees - The Score
88

Excluding some nonsensical and weird lyrics, this album is really remarkable for its era. The raw rap is fun most of the time, with some cool skits. All of the members have intelligent lines and different songs to shine, but the brightest star is easily Lauryn, carrying most of the songs and showing her talent even in a more casual rap and low beats. Overall, it’s very creative and definitely the highest the group reached together, with some moments that are a breezy little wind of what ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2

Chill, raw and satisfying. A good subsequent album from the first. The flow has been quite as smooth and hard hitting, it just misses and fails on some verses. Boring songs with repetition, which luckily are just very few, are what differentiate the quality to the original and make it less consistent.

Maya Hawke - MAITREYA CORSO
86

89 -> 86

Maya is back again and as fun as ever. Maya’s standout ability to be flexible and dynamic is present here the most as in any of her other projects. The lyrics are captivating, with some very nice production and instrumentals that make the songs pop so much. The sound in here is probably my favorite from hers so far, combining for such a convincing and electric experience. The first half of the just makes it a little loose and prevents it from being even better. In general, I ... read more

Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory

To me: this is an okay album. Of course it has some variety to offer, mostly lyrically, but it’s just very one-sided most of the time; fun moments, but not many good highs or hard hitting verses. Production is fine too, but not too diverse and nifty.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
94

The biggest album of all time, by the biggest artist of all time. This is incredibly influential to all of music, a parallel between before and after it. Even though I love it, and it made my childhood, Thriller has some flaws. Though the flaws don’t affect the experience too much, they stop it from being a perfect album. “ Human Nature” and “ The Lady in My Life” aren’t bad songs, but they definitely aren’t in the same level as the rest of the album, ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

When I say this is a perfect album, I mean it. Zero skips and a pleasure throughout. The creative otherworldly odyssey of “ Imaginal Disk” is incredibly surreal, psychedelic and fun. This is so well thought, from the unique choice of words to the production that stands out in each song. A shocking adventure from the duo, but in a good way. So catchy, stunning and beautiful. Love it

Steve Lacy - The Lo-Fis
65

Not much to say here. It’s a very fun time. Even with these songs being raw, they are still very unique. The overall sound, along with the great instrumentals give off such a vividly satisfying feeling of well-being and simplicity.

Brent Faiyaz - Icon
23

bland, unoriginal… there’s many words you can use to describe this r&b albumthat lacks a lot freshness, novelty and originality. nothing here stands out for being unique, even in its highs, which are one or two brief moments. the lyrics are just as common as you’d expect from a Brent album without passion.

slime reaper - Lyrical Exercise Pt. 2 Demo (feat. AntOfTheYear & Travi$ $cott)
35

slime’s verse saves this from being a big flop. the instrumentals are from another planet, a trash planet to be honest. ant is actually pure buns in this. i still believe they will manage to turn back around and make good songs

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS
88

A crazy, surreal and packed adventure, explores the best features of both Kanye and Cudi. Genius production and incredible rapping. Some features stop it from being even better, but still, a very thrilling and ethreal ride.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - Alfredo
87

The rapping heres is fire. Hard hitting flows and creative samples are a cherry on the cake. The lyrical elements of each song connect as they move on. Performances are unique and great. Overall, a comforting and intelligent experience.

Steve Lacy - Gemini Rights
70

This album is a very fun experience. I like its charm, created by the different instruments and tones Steve Lacy has in his voice. Its sweet stories and special heartfealt performances consolidate its lovely concept, with an aesthetic that doesn’t work always, but is still very consistent and entertaining.

Lil Uzi Vert - Luv Is Rage 2
58

The highs save it from being worse. Still entertaining at times, but shows mostly repetitiveness on lyrics and beats.

Childish Gambino - Atavista
50

don’t get me wrong, this album is enjoyable, it’s just not nearly as fun and well developed as other projects from gambino, plus it’s a little raw and not consistent

Denzel Curry - KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH
91

just ever so slightly worse than KOTMS II. “ACT A DAMN FOOL” and specially “ STILL IN THE PAINT” are its highs, with the other additions being forgettable and okay. For those two songs though, the rapping is incredible and features are a big addition, flow state is immaculate in still in the paint.

Baby Keem - The Melodic Blue
52

it’s ok. even though i really like its high energy and quirky moments, they get overshadowed most of the time by basic lyrics or boring tunes. when its fun, which is its highs, this album is diverse and plays interestingly with its beats, overall not bad for Keem and for an experimental experience too.

Childish Gambino - "Awaken, My Love!"
86

This album is a very nice and pleasant time. Even though it doesn’t lean into Gambino as much, its background vocals and concept style really give you a treat and shifts you into a style of music we haven’t already heard from him. The psychedelic formula, with its funk and soul elements are incredible. Its powerful and one of a kind sounds are really something only few can achieve to that level. Overall, “ Awaken, My Love!” is a nice, heartfelt and rather beautiful ... read more
