mid album. Denzel’s rap potential is not used to the extent it should here and most of the features don’t contribute well to a good rap or trap experience. It still has some fun songs and lyrics but that’s a minority of them, with the rest being ok and generic most of the time.
This is a cool keem record and works at best whenever he goes for a unique sound. of course I like the regular baby keem but songs like the title track with a faster pace and more aggressive tone or dramatic girl where he goes full fun and melodic really stand out to me. the production is weird sometimes but when it goes upbeat or simpler, it’s well done. The features in this album were definitely what made it worse, good flirts is a big miss, especially with Kendrick’s verse and ... read more
took me some time to review, but I finally am. this album could’ve been way better but I’m happy with how it turned out. the production is ok and the vocals are good. when they’re well developed, they click up for good elaborated rapping and a different style for a$ap, exploring diverse flows and beats. when done at simpler ways, they make up for goofy verses at times and generic sounds in general ( mid songs ). Overall, this is a cool rap record that can be looked back at ... read more
nice album, the hard flow it has and it’s non stop dynamic rap thrown at you is really nice, makes up for an aggressive, yet very fun time and just shows more of Denzel’s raw vocal talent.
87 -> 83
creative, personal, high quality production and fun and entertaining moments. the big problem with this album is when it goes all over the place with some songs, like “I Killed You” or “Tomorrow”. overall i like it a lot still and some songs are still on repeat for me considering how fun and unique they are.
sets a great mood. soothing and even at times, simple, donald glover’s vocals along with its creative production combines for matching verses written by talent. I really like this album’s concept style and its standout points are really good.
short but very hard hitting Denzel, nice project, nothing new but great rapping always and some nice production.
cool and smooth rnb, with interesting storytelling and pleasant vibes but still feels to me as a creative artist with good vocals but one sided songs and concepts sometimes
classic rocky, good single. nice beat and nice rapping. good hype for the album
as the title implies, the album is Rocky testing new styles. it works sometimes but on other times it doesn’t. it’s probably a concept for what don’t be dumb is trying to achieve with its different style on punk rocky. for a project where he is just experimenting this is okay. interesting but it’s lack of consistency makes it work out less than it could have.
great atmospheric album from The Weeknd, including stand-out features, smooth and pleasant heart felled storytelling, with multiple heartbreak aspects, with each being unique in its own way. for a last record, it’s really going out with a banger
great flows, with wild rapping and beats, a classic.
although i like most of the songs, especially with their creative and bold elements, I can’t say the same for two of them. overall, I really like Weezy’s hip hop in this, whether it’s a fast paced and powerful / wild rap, or a slower rhythm, Wayne still keeps up with the flows almost always.
a fun album, with downsides especially on the unecessary use of slurs or dragging the songs, almost like Tyler on his early days. it still has good moments and good rapping but sometimes, that’s outshined by cliche storytelling.
overall, not too bad
solid album from doom, going on a playful, concept and lirically-wise raw route, but still having good storytelling and dynamics that sound great on various musical styles all throughout it.
the project where Wayne’s flows work out the best in my opinion. incredible beats, iconic songs and rapping that shows what his talent can achieve. yes there are filler songs but most of the album is actually pretty good and underapreciatted. also, Mona Lisa has my favourite kendrick lamar verse ever. a inspired, passionate and fearless upswing from tunechi.
while it has its great highs, i think most of it is way too calm and slow. i get the atmospheric and nocturnal type aspect of the project but i just think its a new formula for Abel that works sometimes and sometimes doesn’t. overall i think its overrated to a certain point but not too bad
