If I came on here and gave In Rainbows anything but a 100 I’d just be lying to myself.
Is this Radioheads best? Maybe.
Is the fact that that’s debatable proof that they are one of the greatest bands of all time? Definitely.
It’s so rare that an album can be as perfectly crafted as In Rainbows is. Front to back masterpieces that all fit perfectly where they are. Everything’s in its right place (wrong album)
Maybe a much easier listen than Kid A or OK Computer, ... read more
I mean come on this guy is just so good at what he does.
The jazzy instrumentals, the smooth vocals, the fun production twists and turns, just everything he’s trying he’s just absolutely nailing.
You can just put this album on and close your eyes and the runtime absolutely flies by.
Not MIKEs best, in my opinion, but more like a strong reminder that this guy is one of the best in the game right now.
My first introduction to Ghost Mountain. I instantly see the appeal. Love the ghostly reverberated vocals that fill the album. The production is really interesting! Especially at the times when he really lets the reverb and bass go crazy.
It’s very consistent, definitely more of a through listen than a highs and lows album.
Probably Tate Mcraes best work so far.
Couple of really good tracks here, but as an album it just sort of falls flat. I think there’s some potential here, and she delivers as always very confidently lots of catchy hooks and fun instrumentation.
Overall though just a bit tropey and repetitive
Really really liking this one. Kept going through the album and each new song I liked more than the previous
Jitnunkebi might be a top 3 song of the year so far for me
Sometimes you just stumble on an album that you aren’t sure you’ll like and it resonates with you in a way you didn’t expect. That’s definitely happened here
Very much enjoyed this
Not really sure what specifically I can say. The instrumentation throughout is very clean and acoustically appealing. I love the echoey vocals that just sort of carry you away, the surfer vibe of the guitar on some of the songs, the EXCELLENT drumming throughout the album.
Definitely worth a listen!! I’m going to check out their other albums ASAP
Some people just have such a beautiful voice it makes you want to be a better person ðŸ˜
I think there are moments on the album that fall a little short for me, but overall it’s a strong listen start to finish.
This album is just so kind and comforting. It feels like it comes from the heart, and wraps you up like a warm hug.
Highly recommend!!
Slight improvement on the original in my opinion, extra tracks are very good
Definitely shows that Carson is capable of putting together a good album and standing on his own.
There’s a lot of room for improvement and I think he’s capable of much more.
When I tell you that quadratic formula made potentially the most emotionally charged and beautiful album I’ve ever heard in my life I mean it.
If you listen through this and you aren’t at least a bit emotional by fantasyworld I don’t know if we can be friends.
This shit so good man
Wanted to post a review for this as I just reviewed their newest album.
Big fan of this one, and have had a lot of the tracks on repeat for the last 2 or 3 years.
The way this guy plays with sound is so fascinating to me, and every time I listen I hear new elements that my brain gets fixated on.
None of the tracks overstay their welcome. They’re short, sweet, fun and creative.
This album is weird. It reminds me of times and places that I feel I have memories of, except they’re ... read more
As a huge huge fan of George Clantons work (I’ve got the hat), seeing a project released by him with TV Girl was like an excitement jumpscare.
As an EP, I don’t get enough time to really lose myself in this the same way as I can with Slide or 100% Electronica for example. Due to this I think it just fell a bit short for me. Also it’s a little too TV Girl and not enough Clanton.
However I could see this growing on me in the future, maybe I’ll change my mind ... read more
Being a fan of the 2014 “Hiraeth”, I got a spotify countdown notification for this and thought I may as well save it to give it a go.
This album does a lot of what I liked about Hiraeth. It’s calming and ambient, however it is missing the more upbeat and creative tunes that made that album so interesting to me.
I may have to listen to the rest of his stuff for a bit more context.
How had I not heard this before.
Discovering this album made me realise just how much life changing music I haven’t heard yet. Even as a lifelong music enthusiast it was almost like a reminder that I still have so much more to experience.
The fact I won’t be able to get this on Vinyl is a crime because I don’t think it would leave my turntable for days at a time.
Is it weird if I say it feels like it’s almost elevated by the fact I don’t understand what ... read more
Although I find more personal love for RAM, Discovery is undeniably Daft Punks Magnum Opus.
Completely revolutionary to house music and electronic music as a whole, there is so much amazing music that may have never happened without this release.
Also if you haven’t watched Interstella 5555 definitely do! Made me love the album even more.
Benchmark album for everything that has come since.
Perfect album
If you haven’t listened to this you are missing out on a defining music moment of your life. Take 40 minutes out and just really lose yourself in it.
Whilst I feel this album falls short of 2022’s “Everything I know about love”, Bewitched is undeniably a very pretty and listenable album.
I think it’s clear though that the level of creativity and cohesiveness that she is clearly capable of is not quite fully on show here. Whilst I find Everything I Know About Love has me absolutely ENTHRALLED throughout, Bewitched definitely feels more of a highs and lows album. There are certain tracks here that stand out to me as ... read more
Think it’s maybe a little unfair me reviewing this as it just really really isn’t my kind of music but thought hey fuck it yknow who cares.
I could see some people really liking this, but just not my style unfortunately.
