Let Down underrated
I actually had no idea what this was going in. I just knew I liked the album cover and everybody else loves it. I was expecting some sad folksy record because of the art but instead I got one of the most enjoyable cohesive listening experiences I’ve had in ages while. I don’t know what the genre is and I don’t care.

That halo looks a bit like a Pringle. I like Pringles. But I used to like them more as a kid. It all went wrong that tragic day I tried a paprika Pringle from a friend at the school table. “Mmm that was nice” I thought. And forgot about it. Years later I saw those paprika Pringles in Home Bargains and bought 3 cans of them because they were so cheap and I thought I liked them. I was unfortunate enough to find out about 1/4 through can 1 of 3 that I did not in ... read more

This album has done irreparable damage to tattoos around the world. I imagine the typical tattoo artist has to do at least 2 or 3 Foo Fighters logos a month or else risk their families going hungry or freezing to death in the winter.

I swear all the small bands at my local sound just like this. It's got some good moments but nothing really stuck with me afterwards.

About halfway through Head On/Pil l decided I wanted to make a cuppa, but when I got into the kitchen I saw that one of my flatmates had left the fridge cracked open. Inside, my milk said "EXP 03 JUN" on the front, and with today's date being June 5th, I had to solemnly pour my extra chunky churdled milk down the kitchen sink. There were little bits in the basin I had to wash away with hot water. So I now have a very hot thermos of milkless matcha with three ... read more

Call me Morrissey, because I’ve never had a j*b because I’ve never wanted one.

I can almost forgive my annoying childhood neighbour for pestering me about how good Pink Floyd was all the time after this.
EDIT: (Nevermind just relistened to Dark Side of the Moon and I liked it more than this)

And so I sat down at my desk. I decided that if I was going to do some work, I may as well have fun while I did. And so I started typing ‘king gizzard & the li-‘ , but suddenly I sneezed and face-planted into the backspace key 22 times. When I stopped to wipe my nose, a leprechaun sprung out of my wallet and shouted “This is what you get for not having any gold!” and he burst into a plume of smoke.

Undoubtedly very competently done, but I didn't resonate as strongly as I did with SITKOL, but that's a bit of a high bar to reach when one album has Another Star and the other doesn't. Still great.

Think I prefer White Pony by a decent margin, but this is still good. Who doesn’t love explaining to your mother that the sweaty topless woman on your phone that she keeps seeing is just an album cover.

This fucking sucks.

What the fuck is that album cover, I swear I’ve seen a power ranger do that once before turning into a tiger motorbike or some shit. Fun album though.

Once again, a very hit or miss experience for me. There are a few real strong tracks, like ‘Reincarnated’ and ‘heart pt.6’, but other than that I thought everything else was either just ok or a little annoying. Guess I’m just not a Kendrick fan.

I liked this a good bit more than I did DAMN and GKMC. While still a bit of a dice roll for my enjoyment in the first half, the quality picks up a lot from Savior onwards. I still can’t stand some tracks and Kendrick’s singing is still grating but the highs on here are real good. ‘Auntie Diaries’, ‘The Heart Part 5’, and ‘Mother I Sober’ are among his best works that I’ve heard. I’d rate this much higher if some ... read more

Similar to GKMC for me in that it’s a bit of a mixed bag, except this doesn’t have the same quality of storytelling. I give it a 55 since it was basically a dice roll of me enjoying whatever track came up, and Kendrick’s singing got annoying again 3 tracks in.
