baby im preying on you tonight hunt you down like eat you alive just like animals, animals like animals
jokes aside this is a state of the art prog rock album, which yes has technically, only three tracks but all three of them are superb.
would i listen to this fully as an album? Nope! would i listen to the individual tracks? fuck yes!
favs: cmon its obvious
arctic monkeys best work, no questions about it!
they sound so lively here, whether its through intense tracks like track 2 or even stuff like mardy bum or a certain romance
alex turner's vocals are at its best here (but fwv is also really good) \
favs: the view from the afternoon, i bet you look good on the dancefloor, dancing shoes, mardy bum, when the sun goes down, a certain romance
(pda mentioned)
interpol's 2002 release, turn on the bright lights, is an album that will surprise anyone that this is a DEBUT album. how did these guys hit the mark on the first try ??
from the dizzying guitars to the dreamy vocals, listening to this as an album is an amazing experience, and the tracks on their own are also incredible.
edit 2026: 91 -> 87
favs: untitled, obstacle 1, nyc, pda, say hello to the angels, the stella wtv song, roland, the new, leif erikson
cibo matto's stereo type a is one of the first albums ive listened due to a friend recommending !!
the best way id describe them is if massive attack switched genders and listened to minuano
bro the feature on lint of love is wild lmao (also the guitar part at the enddd, my metalhead just activated fr)
tracks like moonchild, clouds, speechless are just an utter vibe, no other way to describe them
and stone? bossa nova as a final track (whats mortming) is such a killer move
favs: spoon, ... read more
(fun fact i own a cd of this album from a lamp discord server giveaway)
genso (phantasma) is an album you put on if you want to just lie down and stare up into your ceiling, endlessly. heck, u might even shed a tear due to some of the tracks on this.
i think this whole vibe is encompassed best by track 5, yume utsutsu, a track where kaori's vocals just mesmerize you in so many ways. the instrumentals also are amazing throughout the whole album, with my standouts being track 1, and the ... read more
i really hate this album man
arctic monkeys just sound so generic here, alex turner sounds like a turnip bro i swear.
how do THREE songs here have over 2bill streams on spotify, it kinda says smth abt this album just being mainstream slop.
i wanna be yours is horrid btw sorry not sorry
favs: r u mine?, why'd you only call me when you're high?
the best beatles album, yes shut up
so experimental i love the sitars on some tracks bro,
has its low point sthough, dont get me wrong, but the overall album is better than abbey road imo.
( individual tracks: abbey road > revolver)
( overall album: revolver > abbey road)
favs: taxman, eleanor rigby, im only sleeping, love you to, for no one, tomorrow never knows
man i used to hate on my parents n grandparents for listening to ts, but wow do i get them now
but honestly i really dont get the hype over the medley, EXCEPT for scittbw to the end, now that is actual brilliance.
also i want you (shes so heavy) holy shit what a heavy ass song
favs: come together, something, i want you (shes so heavy), here comes the sun, golden slumbers, the end
pt 2 and 3 is soooo gooodddddd
and ik your supposed to listen to the whole thing but pt 1 4 and 5 just feel so filler, part 4 is literal just static atp
Holy Fucking Shit: 40,000
one of my first ever metal albums, not even just metalcore :sob:
it shocked me at first, now its just so peak for me after a few relistens
but still, going through this whole album without a single break might just kill someone bro
favs: heaven in her arms, phoenix in flight, jane doe
(why is this not on the top albums list??) (edit: nvm i just realized it takes like 5days for an album to enter the top list mb guys)
Deafheaven's newest project "Lonely People With Power" is the epitome of black metal in my opinion.
mixing clean vocals with metal vocals has always been a challenge for artists but deafheaven has perfected that
favs: doberman, amethyst, revelator, winona
this was SO underwhelming when i first listened to it when it released
was super disappointed seeing a damn album that was 24 mins only bro holy
favs:
glimpse of us, die for you, dissolve (yeah ik)
mixed bag, like in both quality and hardcore-ness
but aggressive evolution is so ASS
screaming to track 11 is a generational run
favs:
broken vision rhythm, two way mirror, screaming, is it really you?, gored, wtv track 11 is, a sad cartoon
feels like theres alot of filler tracks honestly
but the standouts are really good
my rating looks ridiculous since theres so many good tracks but listening to the album front and back is ehhhh
favs: (and i rlly mean favs these r so good)
bloodhail, holy fucking shittt: 40,000, deep, deep, i dont love, earthmover
Holy shit what is this
honestly is this even pop it feels so experimental it doesnt even sound like pop
hearing bass and it being a major factor in the mix for once in a POP song is so refreshing
also how many damn instruments have been used in this album, id honestly feel bad for the poor mixer
the last track sounds like within you, without you from the beatles with that sitar wooh
favs:
宗教, 迷彩, やっつけ仕事, 茎(this title is incomplete), おこのみで, 葬列
please bro release this on spotify.
this is actually so peak why is this just on bandcamp.
favs:
fuckin all of them bro
