Two very big pink eyeballs are staring at me
jokes aside, lets just ignore the album cover for a bit, pig destoryers 2004 lp, "terrifyer" is, what a shocker, pretty terrifying. disregarding the intro, this whole album is just 32 minutes of pure rage and filthy riffs, with so much anger i think you might pop a vein while listening to this lol.
with most tracks here being barely a minute, its hard to listen to the singles off this, apart from the standouts but the experience of the ... read more
cmon this is obviously perfect
i feel theres smth abt the french and being so DAMN good at house/edm music like wtf ??? justice and daft punk france rlly went 2/2 huh
"discovery" is a 61 min absolute vibe, it either makes u feel hype with tracks like harder, better, faster, stronger and one more time
but the main attraction from this album are all the more chill songs. digital love, something about us, face to face, these arent really songs you would dance to, atleast i hope no ... read more
its not as bad as ppl think it is guys pls
lamps 2018 super short album, "her watch" is a very very chill experience, dont expect stuff that sounds like songs from yume or tokyo utopia.
despite being short, her watch still has some good snippets off it, but the experience overall, as an album? yeah even as a lamp fan i can admit it lacks something for sure.
(and the single vers of place in my dream is also rlly good, try it out)

How Did I Not Review This Yet Holy Guacamole!
lamp's first ever ep, "soyokaze apartment 101" is a short and sweet showcase of what lamp can do as a group.
im not saying this is a bad ep obv, its obviously just the start to something greater, still this ep stands its ground compared to lamps other works.
and the standout songs here really hittt
favs:
windy afternoon, raindrop city, us tonight, winter cafe
its fun tbf
lovejoy's 1st ep, "are you alright?" isnt bad tbf, it just sounds like ur classic indie pop ep
anyways everyone stfu cuz cause for concern is the best track here i dont care
favs:
cause for concern
its okay
lovejoy's 2nd ep, "pebble brain" is a decent ep with some good ideas sprinkled in it
its a decent indie rock ep which you could prob find like 15 other ones that sound like this lmao
also i love that model buses is making fun of boris johnson
favs:
model buses, concrete, the fall
seperate the art from the artists
wilbur soot is a shittyyyyy person, and i dont even listen to lovejoy anymore ever since that whole drama unfolded (im not tryna support the man)
but id be lying if i said that "wake up & its over" is a bad ep. its definitely not a perfect one, but it showed a great direction for lovejoy,
anyways its a decent ep (also the production could be better)
favs:
portrait of a blank slate, call me what you like, scum, its golden hour somewhere
2021-2022 me was obsesssseddd with mitski, so seeing this release i was so hyped, and i was a bit let down.
"laurel hell" goes a very different direction compared to mitski's other works, and it does show its quality in a few standout tracks, but apart from that it has a lot to improve on.
favs:
the only heartbreaker, should've been me
utterly revolutionary
igorrrrrr is a 2019 album that i listened to regularly a long time ago, but i still hold it in high regards
such a mix of emotions and feelings, and on top of that its a concept album ??? simply incredible
EDIT in 2026:
i lost my interest in tyler now soraey (95 -> 85)
favs:
i think, running out of time, new magic wand, a boy is a gun*, gone, gone / thank you, are we still friends?
avalanches, yet the album cover shows water hahahah
"since i left you" how do i even start with this?? its a literal mind breaker of an album honestly, every song, regardless of quality, fits seamlessly into each other to create this full, and amazing experience.
the amount of times i was shocked that i was already on another song was alottttt
apart from that about 95% of the samples are so good (the horse neighs were a bit questionable)

gojiraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
gojiras 2012 project, "l'enfant sauvage" (the wild child in french i think i hope my 3yrs of french is paying off) and wow this is a crazy ass prog metal album
im even surprised it only has an 84 rating with so many hits i would expect smth like 86 or smth lmao
favs:
explosia, l'enfant sauvage, the axe, planned obsolescence, mouth of kala, the gift of guilt, born in winter
mr west, ohh mr west please just come back to this we can pretend vultures 1&2 and ww3 dont exist thank you
tyde's newest project "twenty twenty tyde" (lowk the album cover does NOT fit the name the cover is showing 202 then the guy so the album name should be like twenty two tyde or two hundred two tyde okay wtv ill shut up) is admittedly a very short project, it is an ep despite having 9 songs.
its a lofi rap (?) or bedroom rap (is that even a thing) project, and it is quite the vibe, with some outliers, but i could get you if you would think this is a subpar ep, but i personally ... read more
jazzzzzzz rap
mckinley dixon's "magic, alive!" is a 35 minute staple of jazz rap/hip hop
honestly sometimes the features do ruin it but honestly they make the album so good most of the time :triumph:
the only bad thing about this album is that its only 35 minutes
edit 2026: I dont find myself coming back to this album alot (87 -> 75)
favs:
sugar water, run run run pt ii, were outside rejoice!, all the loved ones, f.f.o.l, listen gentle, magic alive!, couldve been different
yeah this is really good oh my
"just a moment" by ling tosite sigure is a j-rock (?) album, and honestly its even hard to call this j-rock, its like calling soad alt rock.
i definitely prefer the post-hardcore tag it has, but i can understand it being classified as j-rock
i can understand if people don't like the album, the vocalist's delivery style is an acquired taste for sure, but it just fits the heavy instrumentals so well
