a very respectable album (or ep??) but its very clear whats the main attraction here.
summer's gone -second season ver- is a 6:51 masterpiece of shoegaze and space rock
other tracks are fine, esp stargazer (rainbow reference??)
this is an album where u can listen to it front to back, or even just the singles like the title track or other picks.
"what's going on" is an absolute experience, that i think anyone can enjoy.
favs: what's going on, what's happening brother, save the children, inner city blues
holy shit this really puts the prog in prog metal
50 minutes of nothing but monstrous prog metal (now my top 3 prog metal would have to be tool, gojira and mastodon or death if they count, but id consider them death metal)
crack the skye has so many hits its crazy
favs: oblivion, divinations, the czar, ghost of karelia, crack the skye, the last baron
joji please this really did not have to be 18 tracks
joji's sophomore release, nectar is honestly a decent album if it werent for all the damn filler it had
standout tracks were such a vibe for 2021 me, and i look back on those days positively but there are a lot of misses
on this album.
favs: ew, tick tock, run, sanctuary, like you do
such a different album compared to velocity design comfort, yet still really good!
still there are some misses here thoughh
favs: conservation of two, air supply, acting, milk, darkness, your world is eternally complete
such an interesting album honestly, calling it indie rock is an understatement.
(why are the discs called 2 and 3 actually wheres disc 1)
favs: we invent you, decemnber, terminus, off this century, one lick less, october all over, below the salt
my roman empire (hahahahah get it guys okay no im sorry)
botch's we are the romans is a metalcore album which feels like getting hit by a car for 52 minutes
the compositions are so unique, add onto that a great vocal performance you wouldnt expect from metalcore and you get a brilliant album.
favs: to our friends in the great white north, mondrian was a liar, transitions from persona to object, frequency ass bandit, man the rampants
opeth's blackwater park is a 66 minute monster of prog metal. your favorite prog metal album is either this or some tool album,
personally id say aenima or lateralus but i would completely understand if your favorite is this. (i forgot gojira exists, if thats ur fav ur super cool)
blackwater park is an extreme blend of various elements, clean and metal vocals, harsh and acoustic guitars, the list goes on.
even weaker tracks like harvest and the funeral portrait still stand out in their ... read more
eh, the singles off these are really good, but listening to this as a full album is just horrid, way too many filler tracks
she's electric being a straight gently weeps rip off feels so off
favs: dont look back in anger, some might say, champagne supernova
Echoes. just echoes
honestly this whole album just feels like a buildup to prepare you for echoes, one of these days lit just feels like a trailer lmao.
echoes makes you question how this was made in 1971
favs: one of these days, a pillow of winds, fearless, echoes, echoes, echoes
DORARARARARARARARARARARA
somehow longer than dsotm, with having 5 tracks lol (its cuz of crazy diamond but shh)
favs:
shine on you crazy diamond pt 1-5, welcome to the machine, wish you were here
first ever prog rock album, thanks lil yachty back when he made lets start here (im not kidding)
42 minutes, and it doesnt even feel like it
there is just so many hits here it is completely insane
favs: breathe (in the air), time, the great gig in the sky, money, us and them, brain damage, eclipse
god couldnt handle jeff buckley, so he killed him
holy shit this album is amazing, its such a tragedy that this is his only full album man omg
51 minutes of absolute heartbreakers
favs: mojo pin, grace, last goodbye, lilac wine, so real, lover, you shouldve come over, eternal life, dream brother
baby im preying on you tonight hunt you down like eat you alive just like animals, animals like animals
jokes aside this is a state of the art prog rock album, which yes has technically, only three tracks but all three of them are superb.
would i listen to this fully as an album? Nope! would i listen to the individual tracks? fuck yes!
favs: cmon its obvious
arctic monkeys best work, no questions about it!
they sound so lively here, whether its through intense tracks like track 2 or even stuff like mardy bum or a certain romance
alex turner's vocals are at its best here (but fwv is also really good) \
favs: the view from the afternoon, i bet you look good on the dancefloor, dancing shoes, mardy bum, when the sun goes down, a certain romance
(pda mentioned)
interpol's 2002 release, turn on the bright lights, is an album that will surprise anyone that this is a DEBUT album. how did these guys hit the mark on the first try ??
from the dizzying guitars to the dreamy vocals, listening to this as an album is an amazing experience, and the tracks on their own are also incredible.
edit 2026: 91 -> 87
favs: untitled, obstacle 1, nyc, pda, say hello to the angels, the stella wtv song, roland, the new, leif erikson
cibo matto's stereo type a is one of the first albums ive listened due to a friend recommending !!
the best way id describe them is if massive attack switched genders and listened to minuano
bro the feature on lint of love is wild lmao (also the guitar part at the enddd, my metalhead just activated fr)
tracks like moonchild, clouds, speechless are just an utter vibe, no other way to describe them
and stone? bossa nova as a final track (whats mortming) is such a killer move
favs: spoon, ... read more
genso, the most depressing album lamps made (half joke, bcuz its kinda true lmao)
genso (or phantasma) is 49 minutes of absolute greatness
the transition between tracks 1-2 is so seamless and both of the songs are just incredible
ofc we have to talk about yume utsutsu, 5 minutes of utter depression
but then we look at tracks like track no. 8, hatachi no koi, which feels way more joyous and bubbly, akin to their other projects like for lovers or even some tracks from dusk to dawn.
overall, a ... read more
