Reminds me of my dad who I never knew was a Cure fan till his death, love this album with a passion, and hits on so many different emotional levels.

IDLES - Ultra Mono
95

This is my first IDLES album and yes I am out of order but man this thing has insane instrumentation especially the drums which of course are usually always my favorite parts of albums but especially this one they are so heavy and prominent everywhere it's incredible. I love the vocalist and it is almost as if Rage Against The Machine was British and more punk-focused just an overall awesome record.

Best Songs: War, Mr.Motivator, Model Village, Reigns, The Lover, A Hymn, Danke

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

A$AP Rocky - AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP

Another Rocky album! Man, the first half of this album is SO GOOD, love the slower songs on this album and the production is SO GOOD on this thing, Rocky always has so many diverse songs and great production so I am happy to see this is on par with his other albums.

MGMT - Little Dark Age
83

Again another different-sounding album from MGMT and it sounds great! I will admit out of the three I have listened to from them this is my least favorite but man it is still quality. The main problem I have is that this album is SUPER front-loaded like the first 4 songs are an incredible run then after it is definitely a downgrade. Either way, I love this band no matter what.

Best Songs; She Works Out Too Much, Title track, When You Die, Me and Michael, James, Hand It Over

MGMT - Congratulations
100

A completely different direction for the band after their debut album and I love this thing to death, it is perfect Pysch Rock and very trippy at times which is the point yet for many people it will take multiple listens for it to click and once it does it is hard to put down. This album cements me in saying that MGMT is close to Daft Punk among my all-time bands/groups which is an insane accomplishment. MGMT also continues to have amazing drums that are mixed perfectly.

Here we are this is the end of my journey for Coldplay, or at least all of their early and great work, I do not feel the need to listen to any of their newer albums after this because all I have heard are negative things and I would like to keep it in my mind that this band is awesome. That said this is my favorite Coldplay album, they took some risks and it paid off well and I liked hearing a different sound from them and the lyrics are connected to a theme which always makes the album pop ... read more

Coldplay - X&Y

Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
96

Had to continue Coldplay's discography after their amazing debut album "Parachutes" and this album definitely does not disappoint especially from the opening track Politik, the last 2 minutes of that song send me to a different planet it just sounds so incredible. I love early Coldplay so much it is just sad their newer stuff will never match this.

Best Songs: Politik, In My Place, God Put a Smile upon Your Face, The Scientist, Clocks, Warning Sign, Title Track, Amsterdam

Audioslave - Audioslave
90

The debut of a supergroup, all the instrumentalists from Rage Against The Machine which is one of my favorite bands, and vocal frontman Chris Cornell from Soundgarden this is the perfect match made in heaven, yes it is pretty much the same sound for an hour but I don't care I love this thing to death. The riffs, the drums the vocals it all hits so hard what is there not to love? The drawback of this album being the same sound is after track 9 it does become a bit dull compared to the first half ... read more

Beach House - Once Twice Melody
88

Beach House continues to be one of my favorite bands/duos in music with another great album in their discography, sadly I am close to being done with everything so let's hope a new album is in the works and releases soon. I also find it interesting how this album is split into 4 different discs it is pretty cool and something I don't see too often. If I had to choose a favorite song it would be Superstar, that song is pure perfection.

Best Songs: Once Twice Melody, Superstar, New Romance, Only ... read more
