'Laurel Hell' is an album I've been so interested to check out. The couple singles I heard prior to it's release took me a while to fully vibe with, I had to adjust to the shift in sound. I do like this, it sounds like clean, well made throwback R&B soul stuff.
I just feel like it doesn’t hit the level as his last two albums, those were filled with back to back generational shit, and this feels more same-y and generic.
Also some of the production and musical choices feel somewhat irritatingly present. I stand by that the “doo do do do” part in ‘I Just Might’ just really kills and cheapens the vibe of what is a very fun song.
