Wow this album is so rich, clearly an evolution of the alt-J sound with plenty of Joe’s own personal touches. So so much to unpack here and I’m so excited to do so as it reminds me of The Dream in how each time I hear it more layers present themselves.

Somewhat unremarkable, though I did find the aesthetic they were going for and backing instrumental production pretty sweet. This probably would have fared better a decade ago, for better or for worse.

An easy listen for some background music, but certainly check out that opening track.

Honestly I like this better than Homework, it’s got a more engaging and unique electronic sci-fi quality that I love. I found myself more engaged through the whole runtime as a non-House fan, and I think there were more memorable moments here too.

This is a pretty easy background listen, and a great debut, but it’s also clear that it’s not as deeply produced or sonically dynamic as some of Daft Punk’s later records- namely the follow up Discovery.
