I love this guy's voice. Cautious Clay puts his singing talent on full display in his debut album, and he nails his performance on every single track. From researching I also believe he was responsible for the production throughout this project, and I think he does a great job on that department too! Nothing insanely crazy or anything, but he does enough for what this album is set out to be: a mellow, vibey, soft-spoken emotional listen. My favorite track was probably Agreeable, I found it ... read more
Hell yeah. When I instinctively stank-faced like ten seconds into hearing this album for the first time, I knew this project was going to be something else. The club-styled production all throughout this album is ELECTRIC. Every single track made me want to get out of my chair, every. single. track. From beginning to end, Joey Valence & Brae feel like they just come on each song SWINGING FOR THE FENCES with their deliveries and insane lines. There were a countless amount of times where ... read more
As much heavy lifting as the production does throughout the entire project, I still found this album to be pretty unamusing and uneventful. I found it quite odd how few and far between the rapping performances were from track to track, and the fact that the rapper used the same exact tone for each of his tracks definitely didn't help either. There was clearly a lot of potential here, but I just found the emotion and energy from this album to be quite lacking. I wasn't really expecting ... read more
Yes, this album is INCREDIBLY upfront and unapologetically raunchy. But that itself isn't necessarily a bad thing. I mean one of my favorite EP's, Up & Down by She Wants Revenge, is known for being quite… detailed. But I think the reason that this is more flawed for me is because of the fact that when I hear Sabrina Carpenter talk about receiving “pipe 🥸” it makes me more uncomfortable considering that I primarily know her from watching her on Disney Channel ... read more
This is by no means a bad project. And to say this about an AJR album, it's actually pretty cool to see a lot of people coming together to appreciate something they've put out! Now I'm someone who hasn't really paid attention to them over the years, so I'm certainly neither a fan nor a "hater" of their work, but after hearing a lot of backlash about them for quite some time, I was really satisfied with how well of a project they've made here! I actually ... read more
Really not much to complain about here! Sabrina Carpenter honestly blew my expectations here, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't vibing throughout this album. Very tame, but also very harmless, what's not to like about this? Espresso is probably among the best "radio music" we've gotten in recent years, especially when considering how oversaturated and plain radio music has become as a whole. Good album! ALBUM #100: This is my 100th album that I've ever listened to. And wow, what a way to mark this milestone. For context: my good friend Oshokko has been wanting me to listen to this album ever since March 2025. And for some reason or another (maybe because of how unconventional as a whole the project is) I just kept putting it aside throughout the months, though still having the intention of eventually listening to it. And months later, when I was approaching my 100th album, I thought now ... read more
Optimal listening experience is playing this while alone in a college dorm room on a tuesday morning before class. I actually gave this album a listen all the way back in February/March but I lowkey forgot to write a review haha so I relistened to it today... and why is this actually so nostalgic 😠even putting that aside though, this is an amazing album. It's culturally iconic for a good reason, and while I don't think this is necessarily a no-skip tracklist, the lows aren't ... read more
Don't know how I'm listening to this before Magic, Alive! but don't mind that! Considering that album's critical acclaim, I was pretty interested to check this one out after my boy EMIXMA recommended me to listen to this as album #99 and I found this to be pretty good! Had several weak moments, as well as several standout moments, but all-together this is definitely a good album. I wasn't really a fan of Mezzanine Tippin' and Tyler, Forever. But I REALLY liked Run, ... read more
2019-2021 me would have been FERAL over this album 😠but as a listen in 2025, I just had a great time with this! The production as well as the overall atmosphere that comes with this album is incredible, and I just really liked the general vibe of pretty much all of these songs. One thing that weights this project down a bit for me is the fact that the singing sometimes feels a bit annoying but that definetly isn’t the case for the ENTIRE album, and most of the time it is successful in ... read more
How To Be a Human Being by Glass Animals is my favorite album of all time. With that being said: UGHHHH this album was so frustrating to listen to. Each song feels like they're holding themselves back and not going 100% in, and that goes for both the production and the singing. Even moments like the drop on Tokyo Drifting, it just feels like something is missing. And that may be me just largely comparing it to their previous project in which each track off of How To Be a Human Being had so ... read more
Checked this out after listening to Gabu's 2022 project "partners" which I began to constantly listen to these past couple days. Was pretty surprised by this project too, considering how different it is from what I've previously heard of Gabu! "all these faces" leans much more into digicore and hyperpop as opposed to the bedroom pop that defined their previous work. And admittedly I wasn't completely on board with it until the second half of the album, where ... read more
This is really good! Gabu's singing is beautiful throughout the entire album, and the production great too, all making for a very nice and vibey album to listen to. Just a very nice and casual album to listen to for some nice vibes. Not many bad things to say about this album, although it didn't leave me completely engaged or astonished, it still surpassed my expectations and it certainly achieved what it set out to do! Really solid debut! Thought the flows were really good all throughout the album, and I didn't really think there were any BAD tracks off here. I found The One to be the standout track off here. Gets a little repetitive as it goes along with the same formula being utilized over and over again, though that doesn't matter too much since the songs are still pretty good. I found my favorite parts to be when ljjr was singing but still with rapping managed to hold its own too. Solid album. ... read more
Funny story: yesterday I was streaming on YouTube and reacting to songs submitted by viewers of mine. My good friend MathGenius sent in the most recent single by DYL, which was my first time hearing of him. Lo and behold, DYL joins my stream and watches me react to his song! Not only that, but the next day he sends me a heartfelt message thanking me for listening to his song, and talking about how much it truly means to him to see other people notice and enjoy his hard work.
Now why am I ... read more
Thought they got Adapt on the album cover LOL but yeah this was actually the first Yeat project I've ever listened to. And I can gladly say that it's definitely left me interested in checking out more from him! On DANGEROUS SUMMER, Yeat brought what I was expecting off him with some hard bangers, and more. There was a couple slower songs off here that I liked such as 2TONE and FLY NITE, and the part of this project that I probably liked the most was [ADL IS COMING] with Yeat's ... read more
Am I tripping or does the lead singer of Band of Horses here sound like the lead singer from Cage the Elephant? Anyways yeah this album is pretty good! And coming from a guy who typically doesn't listen to slower projects, I found Everything All the Time to be consistently good. The production and instrumentals were top tier throughout, and there was definitely a lot of singing talent showcases here, with my favorite track probably being The Funeral. However, there were many instances ... read more
After HAZARD DUTY PAY! this EP definitely takes a drop in quality. I know another comment already said this but this EP felt more like a collection of some leftover JPEGMAFIA songs rather than a project in its own regard. Not saying that I was expecting anything insane or deep listening to an EP, but OFFLINE! felt pretty inconsistent in terms of quality. Like I said, HAZARD DUTY PAY! definitely carries the entire EP. And with it being the opener, it left a lot more to be desired from the rest ... read more
WOW this album was way better than what I was expecting going into it. While yes, this album certainly lacks a lot of depth and a lot of the tracks sound very similar to one another, I cannot deny how infectious the vibes are off of this album. It felt like my mood instantly improved when I started listening to this album LOL the atmosphere established by the solid production and Jaheim's beautiful performances was amazing. Then again, Jaheim essentially uses the same formula for every ... read more
It's not a bad album by any means, but ultimately Ellipse provides zero reason for me to revisit due to the fact that Imogen Heap's previous project, Speak For Yourself, simply outshines and overshadows Heap's third album. Coupled with the fact that I couldn't really pick out any particular tracks that stuck with me a lot, and I found this to be a much more mundane listening experience in comparison to this album's predecessor. Then again, this is an Imogen Heap album, ... read more
