One of those songs that immediately takes me back to a specific era, which is pretty rare for electronic songs for me haha. Summer 2023 was honestly one of the best times of my life and although this definitely isn't an upbeat track, hearing this song always gets nostalgic in a good way.
Been meaning to get to listen to this for the longest time after my boy LOVECHAOZ showed me the absurdity of this album from the track God Loves You back in 2023. In fact he rated this album a 100, so I'm pretty glad to say I certainly enjoyed this project! Is it a 100 for me? No. But I have a lot of respect for this album as it clearly succeeds in what it set out to does. My favorite like are Burfict! and Kingdom Hearts have the artists perfectly match the energy of such chaotic beats, ... read more
Great album! Crazy that this is labeled at a rap album because the best parts of listening to this are the parts where he does more singing than rapping. I remember after first hearing this album back in 2022, I was replaying Sky Might Fall over and over again, that and Up Up & Away are for sure my favorite tracks off this album. And going it pretty unfamiliar with Kid Cudi at the time, I was very surprised to see just how many songs I ranked above Day 'N' Nite. Still has a couple ... read more
Album is definitely a little all over the place in terms of quality. Some tracks are really successful in conveying the hype vibe that Ken Carson is trying to establish, like Thx, Psycho, and Root of All Evil, but there's also a lot of moments in this album that are remarkably bad, particularly Diamonds, Lord of Chaos, and Dismantled were most hard to listen to and it felt like the Ken's rapping with clashing against the production. Through it all were a good amount of lyrics that ... read more
Yeah listening to this while in my first year in college definitely hits different. Childhood nostalgia for some of the tracks on this album aside, this album is a fantastic listen. Shoutout to the Minecraft Movie for having me rediscover how perfect of a track Time to Pretend is, it's lyrics and execution hit me particularly deeper than 99.9% of other songs I listen to. Held back a little bit by some songs like 4th Dimensional Transition and Pieces of What, but yeah this album really hits ... read more
First time hearing of Corbin and I'm quite intrigued by his work. He definitely succeeded in creating a spooky tone and atmosphere when it comes to this album and I really liked the writing on several tracks. However I felt like his execution throughout the album was pretty inconsistent. But for a type of music that I don't typically indulge in, I found this album to be pretty good and thoroughly enjoyed tracks like Come Down, Curse In Creation, and most particularly Another Day In ... read more
Ever since the success of his single "If looks could kill" I feel like Destroy Lonely has undergone a pattern of attempting to replicate the vibes and performance from that very well-loved song, only for his efforts to result in projects that don't seem to be that great. Although I don't think this album is that bad, it suffers from the fact that a lot of the songs simply sounds the same, which is further amplified by how long of a project this is. With that being said, I ... read more
After discovering Glass Animals through HTBAHB last summer I was looking forward towards this album. Once I got around to listening though, I can say that they've definitely had better projects. With that being said though, I still find this album to be pretty good with some great tracks! Creatures in Heaven and Show Pony are great, and had I not gone in as someone unfamiliar with their previous works, I probably would've found more enjoyment in this album! Although it's a good ... read more
Pretty inspiring to see her go from Friday to this! Many of the tracks were surprisingly a pretty good listen and personally I felt like the album had a lot of hints of Charli XCX in a good way. Don't really find myself listening to this over and over again, but for some fun electric dance music, I wouldn't mind it if someone played this on my aux! Also gotta mention that the collab with Trevor Rainbolt to market the album worked like a charm. (Listened on March 6th, 2025)
I remember years ago I couldn't finish listening to this because I found it "boring" but years of growing up later and finally coming around to process what the album really was, it gave me a new perspective on music and how works of art such as TPAB can transcend just simply listening to songs and instead provide an important cultural lens and way of thinking. This was really the first album that I truly fell in love with and would listen to over and over again. When a couple singles dropped in 2022 like Cracker Island and New Gold, which are both BANGERS, I became really hyped for the album and it did not disappoint! I was very impressed by how great of a listen this was, and I distinctly remember my friend and I being FLOORED by Oil. Felt like it was held back a lot though with Tormenta but still a really good listen. (Listened on March 15th, 2023)
Been following Micah on tiktok since January 2024 and when he decided to make the move to music I didn't really think much of it, until I listened to his debut album in awe of how peak it was. I may be biased due to how much I enjoy his content but I've listened to this album an absurd amount of times and it's gotten better with each listen. Although the tracks don't offer deep verses, it's sounds takes my mind across different places, and One on One in particular is a ... read more
Pretty good beginning songs to the album but fell more closer to "mid" as it went along for me, still had enjoyment in listening and I think that this album has some of Freddie Dredd's more underrated songs, but it was also a VERY short listen with a total time of fourteen minutes so it's not too much to digest here. (Listened on November 22nd, 2024)
This is the first album I listened to on drop, and what an experience this was. With the context of how big 2024 was for Kendrick, waking up to a surprise drop from him and hopping in vc to listen to GNX with friends was a crazy experience, which was further amplified by how amazing the album was. (Almost) every single track was a BANGER and left me stunned on the first listen, with the exception of gnx feat. Hitta J3, Young Threat & Peysoh, which is really the only thing keeping this from ... read more
Honestly, pretty mid. Not a very memorable listen from a band that is most certainly memorable is my eyes, but most tracks in this felt very bland and uninspiring. Turn The Lights Off obviously carries though and other songs like & and Never Meant to Know are also pretty good, but combined as an album, it's mid. (Listened on August 21st, 2022)
This is the first album I've ever listen to all the way through! Unfortunately I didn't start off with a strong one, with a lot of parts being laughably bad, but still has some good tracks. I think Flights Booked is a top 5 Drake track and of course Jimmy Cooks is a banger, but this album is a really weird listen altogether and has no fluidity between tracks.
