Peggy genuinely exploits my love for the electric guitar so hard on this album. What an interesting album, I was not expecting how differing each track would be headed into this. Before listening in full, don't rely on other men and vulgar display of power had already cemented themselves in my rotation when I just wanted a sneak peak of this album, those two songs are so good. But a new favorite of mine might actually be Don't Put Anything On the Bible. Wasn't expecting such a ... read more
He really can do it all. Been meaning to listen to Flower Boy for FOREVER now, and I'm so glad I finally got around to it. Tyler's soothing vocals across this album, mixed with a couple moments of really hard rapping and production was really fun to listen to. While having a track like Who Dat Boy be sandwiched between See You Again and Pothole did throw me off a bit, I don't think it stopped me from enjoying the qualities of the varying songs. While I have listened to November a ... read more
It's just not that good, which is a shame because I actually enjoyed some of Max's previous works, mainly Atlanta. The final track is definitely the best though, but the more the tracks lean towards that rage sound I feel like the songs just get worse. (Listened on May 6th, 2026)
A whirlwind of enjoyability, some tracks HIT and others I just find to be really uninteresting. Either way, you can still tell that they had a lot of fun making this. Favorites are Partyy, Traa, HOODED, and Perfectly Imperfect. It's certainly an album that you gotta be in a specific mood to listen to, so maybe doing my first-listen while trapped in the middle seat on a four-hour plane ride wasn't the best idea 😅 but despite that I'm still gonna be saving a couple tracks off ... read more
Orphan source and fireside thaumaturgy are on such different ends of the spectrum and yet not only are they both incredible tracks, neither feel out of place in this insane album. I was very surprised to see just how much of a trip this is, as previous hyperpop albums I've listen to have ended up being merely a compilation of fast-paced dance-electronic songs. But my twee monsters takes a very different approach and ends up creating some type of atmosphere and environment with their songs. ... read more
Thank you @oruple for the recomendation! This album is so cool, there's certainly not any glaring problems with it, I just so happen to not be incredibly well-versed in this genre but I still had a great time listening to this. I really like the singer's voice and the passion showcased on each track, you can tell a lot of soul went into making this. Some of my favorite tracks were A Severence Novella, Picture Day, and These Times. But honestly, I think my favorite moment was actually ... read more
Last month, I competed in a collegiate quiz bowl tournament. This album came up as an answer, but while I was of course familiar with what album they were referring to, I frustratingly could not remember the exact title. So, in a fit of rage, I finally came around to listening to Get Rich or Die Tryin’ by 50 Cent. And, he might be my favorite rapper of all time now? His energy is so infectious, and I think a lot of that has to do with how exactly he delivers his bars, and how he’s ... read more
Last night I had the pleasure of watching Joey Valence & Brae perform during their DC stop of their Hyperyouth tour. Joshua Raw turned out to be their opening act, and I keep feeling like I've heard of him from somewhere before but I can't quite put my finger on it haha but either way, I was REALLY impressed with the stage-presence and the talent that he put on display! He clearly showcased that he has the potential to become a big name, which was further enforced when I went back ... read more
CIRCUS CIRCUS MENTIONED RAHHH!!! Okay, what a return from Baby Keem. Honestly by the time I reached the halfway point of this album, I was very disappointed and uninterested in finishing this album with the werid lyricism and just simply the fact that nothing was sticking out to me in Ca$ino. But track 6's "i am not a Lyricist" is where the album takes a shift and I really begin to start listening to what Baby Keem has to say in his sophomore project. From then on, its a mixture ... read more
I can only pray that this is what summer 2026 will sound like. As for my highlights off this album? How about EVERYTHING? This album had me physically smiling bro, it achieves such a nostalgic sound with its upbeat indie pop vibes, while also having some moments where the production left me gobsmacked. If I had to choose a favorite track, it'd probably be Backseat. But I think it's safe to say: this album will definitely be eating up my Apple Music Replay for this month. I just ... read more
I really do commend Danny Brown for bringing in this insane lineup of artists on a single album. Of course we've seen Brown with Quadeca before, but pairing him with underscores and ISSBROKIE is something I've always been intrigued by and I will start by saying I think the tracks with those three features were pretty good! Where Stardust falls short for me is the production. Now I can completely see how a lot of people like it, and I understand most of Danny Brown's discography ... read more
This may just be my biased nostalgia speaking, but this album's use of bedroom pop and indietronica really transported me back to that 2021 era, though that may also be because of the fact that late 2021 was when I discovered Cavetown through his hit song, "This is Home," which was one of my most played songs during that time. But man this album's upbeat electronic vibes really had me bumping my head a lot, and this was probably the most engaged I've been listening to ... read more
It’s a very baseline solid album. I’ve always really liked a good amount of Don Toliver’s work and I actually credit him with being one of the first artists to get me interested in not just the rap genre, but mainstream music as a whole. But while I can’t really pick out any glaring flaws with this album, there certainly also wasn’t anything here that left me gobsmacked. Just a plain consistent showcase of Toliver’s work. Some highlights for me were E85, ... read more
I may not be very fond of Justin Herbert but MADISON BEER I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH YOUR GAME.... I had a much better time with this album than I was expecting, and while I may not have had my socks blown off or anything, I can see myself adding a good chunck of these tracks into my rotation in the near future. So many good moments for a whole bunch of reasons, I loved the production on "make you mine" and found myself bumping my head to "yes baby." Some other highlights include ... read more
What a mixed bag haha how on earth is a track like Robbery on the same project as STFU. While I may not be the biggest fan of A$AP Rocky, I have certainly been aware of how anticipated of an album this was for him to release. And while there are some flashes here and there that make the wait worth it, I feel like this album is not only just so all-over-the-place, but also has a lot of instances where Rocky honestly sells the clip on a bunch of songs with such insane production. The beats are ... read more
Side note: I always thought Olivia Rodrigo was like the same age as Sabrina Carpenter, what do you mean she's exactly three years older than me? What do you mean I'm the same age as when she dropped this album? Because that just so happens to be what makes a big part of listening to this album: as Olivia Rodrigo primarily delves into her growth into her adulthood in the years following the release of her debut album in 2021. The ending track, teenage dream, definetly hit hard for me ... read more
It's not bad but honestly I found listening this to drag on for quite a bit. Nothing here that's outright bad but there also wasn't much that made me turn my head and want to save anything to my playlist. Decent production but all around, relatively basic. (Listened on January 9th, 2026)
THIS the guy in Marty Supreme??? Honestly, it's really cool seeing a young rapper just pop off in popularity out of nowhere. And while I may not be HUGE on these songs, I can completely see the appeal and I'm really happy to see EsDeeKid succeed. He's definitely a really good rapper and had a lot of good bars on a lot of these tracks. I think my biggest grudge is the production but I honestly really don't mind this album. Still managed to have a decently fun time with this, ... read more
