When I first listened to brat I thought it was well produced, sounded cool, but after a few replays I got lost on some of the replays. But man, this thing grew on me. At some point a little while later I was going through an EDM phase, and I decided to replay this album, and wowsers, for some reason something had changed in me, and I was blown away. There's something about the all the simple sound design, the straightforward songwriting, the VIBE, that just makes this thing so enjoyable to ... read more
I didn't really know where to start this review so I'll just say, this album/song was really good, and I mean REALLY GOOD. Every key hit on the piano, every gliding note on the strings, every drop of water in the background. It's patient, and it waits for you to actually pay attention to it, and once you do, once you just ride along with the music, everything makes sense.
The instrumental is probably the highlight of the record, at least for me. It's so hypnotic and its ... read more
To sum up Inferno, it's definitely BOC's most direct, on-the-nose record yet. Centering on religion, cults, and just sketchy stuff basically, the record is like a little art project about these things, but with little glimpses of hope and rebirth every so often.
In terms of production, this record is pretty interesting since it feels a lot ... read more
I first listened to this at like 2AM with my eyes closed the whole time, and wowsers, it knocked my socks off, defo lived up to the hype. Pink Floyd's "the dark side of the moon" is probably one of the most iconic albums of all time and feels like a nice intersection in their discography between their prog roots, while being probably one of their most accessible records. It's sort of known as being like the mascot for 70's psychedelia, and I can't think of a record ... read more
Idk, it's ok. The production is cool, but I would have preferred it to be a little... dreamier, maybe more dynamic, since at times idk I didn't find the instrumentals too interesting. It's a cool little EP tho, some cool tracks, but never any moments I went "oh wow" at. The best track is Miss U, the worst track is 285.
