As the start of Stevie's highly proclaimed 'classic period', boy does this album deliver. Probably the lest talked about of his classics, mainly as it lacks a hit like Talking Book has 'Superstition', or Innervisions has 'Higher Ground'. But this album is criminally slept on, and is a vast improvement to anything he'd ever done before.

Stevie's first try at a completely self-made album, completely produced by him and co-written by him and his wife at the time Syreeta Wright, is good. It lacks the greatness that probably 5 or 6 other Stevie albums grace, which plays to it's detriment, as this is still a good collection of music. Over the previous 9 years releasing albums at Motown, Stevie didn't have the creative control to speak his voice, which we all know because his forte in music. Was super excited for this album, recently having gotten into his last 3-4 projects a lot, especially Magic 8ball. It just kind of fell short. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's just kind of fine.

This album just sounds new. I haven't heard anything really like this, especially because I did not expect it to come from Lil Yachty of all. It's a really enjoyable listen and he's really done himself over here.
