I saw people dear to me cry for this album and above all for the meaning of it. Probably one of the best ever, from the songs to the cover.
MEANING.
I think the only way to listen to this album is all in one go, and for this reason it will perhaps be a bit heavy. However, I love the message it wants to give: the pyramid of society, with the pigs at the top, the dogs that brutally try to make their way and the sheep as the unaware people.
PROPHETIC.
Great rock album, I like the sound of it. There are many songs that have made the history of the genre. The thing is: I can't stand Axl Rose's voice, it's probably me but I think it's too shrill. I think that if Miles Kennedy had been in his place, they would have had triple the success.
POWERFUL.
I mean, it's a good album, beautiful production, good bars. I just don't think it's a top album. Let's say it sounds a bit like Frank Ocean but more hip hop.
ENJOYABLE.
I think this album is too underrated, no one ever talks about it enough. I discovered it in a particular period of my life and I often connect it to it.
UNDERRATED.
The only album that I can listen to in a row without it becoming boring, almost as if it were one long single song. I would have given 100 just for the transition between “Us and Them” and “Any Colour You Like”.
GENERATIONAL.
This album has a one of a kind sound. It gives you anguish, heaviness, dark feelings. The songs are all really beautiful for a lover of the genre. The quality of the recording is also superior to the records of that historical period.
GLOOMY.
My favorite led zeppelin album and absolutely one of my favorite records. There's not much to say, listen to it.
MASTERPIECE.
This album is pure experimentation. I think it's the weakest of the quadrilogy, but it was fundamental in gaining awareness of what they were capable of doing.
EXTRAVAGANT.
The second chapter is even better than the first. They improve the lyrics, the production and the alternation of hard rock songs and more melodic ones that manage to break the rhythm. The second side is just crazy.
TRENDSETTER.
There is a rock before this album and one after. A band made up of four artists who are all in the top positions of the charts regarding their role. However, the album is a bit heavy if listened in one take, especially the first side.
WATERSHED.
Although this is Oasis' most famous and best-selling album, I think it is slightly inferior to the previous one. “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” are probably their most famous songs, but they are not exclusively rock, like many other songs in the album. Rock gives way to a veiled pop and the album is therefore more commercial. However, songs like “Some Might Say”, “Morning Glory” and “Champagne Supernova” are ... read more
“Born with insight and a raised fist”; “I was born to rage against them”; these are two phrases of the song Know Your Enemy (my favorite one) that are key to understanding the rest of the album, with a lot of punchlines and bombtracks and so much noise. Listening to it all at once can be overwhelming, unless you're very pissed off (in this case it would be perfect). One of my favorite records (and one of my favorite bands).
HARD.
Definitely (without maybe) one of the greatest debut albums in history. This album marked a generation, putting Manchester with its Britpop on the map. I think the best songs in this album are Supersonic, Live Forever and Slide Away, which is also my favorite Oasis song.
BIBLICAL.
