The two bonus tracks on Reneé's debut album only elevate it. I really enjoyed the intro track, so I'm glad that there's an extended version, and Bruises is a perfect blend of Everything To Everyone and her sophomore album Snow Angel, honestly making a perfect bridge between the eras. The one critique I have, though, is for the second bonus track. I'm not the biggest fan of the piano, I honestly kind of wish she would've kept the part with harmonies acapella, ... read more
In Reneé Rapp's debut album 'Everything to Everyone', Reneé showcases her vocal and lyrical range perfectly. From being on Broadway, to making pretty great pop music, Reneé has made quite the transformation. She covers every part of her life between these 7 tracks. Her family life, love life, and self love. It's actually quite admirable to cover so much in such a short period of time. Her lyrical abilities remind me a lot of Sabrina Carpenter in the ... read more
Melodrama is Lorde's second studio album and it did not disappoint me. I've never been too big on Lorde, but that's because I've never listened to THIS album. At first, I was skeptical of this album. It had such high scores and great reviews, but how could it really be that good? And, the first time I listened to it, I wasn't huge on it. I mean I liked it, but I didn't think it deserved these SUPER high scores. But, now, I get it and I'm so glad that I finally ... read more
Finneas' songwriting is as sharp as ever on this track, the production stays cohesive with the previous singles and his vocals are so moving it actually surprised me. I am SO excited for this album y'all do not get it.
SAWAYAMA is a perfect mix of electropop, metal, and dance pop. Rina showcases all sides of herself in terms of writing, vocals, and production. To think that this is a debut album is crazy.
Dynasty- 95/100
Dynasty is an unbelievably well-produced pop rock song. It reminds me of Evanescence so much, if someone told me that this was an Evanescence song I probably wouldn’t think twice. The lyrics follow the trauma and pain that Rina has inherited from her parents and what it’s like ... read more
Although a setback from the lead single and title track from this upcoming album "For Crying Out Loud", Cleats is a fun, beach, Fleetwood Mac-inspired track. In context of the album, this could be a cute little moment, but as a single, it makes me worried for the rest of the album. His vocals shine a bit more in this track and the chorus is great, but the verses revert back to the sound from his debut album 'Optimist'.
This song is so unique. Finneas' vocals are so delicate yet powerful, and the production is just stellar. There are horns, and groovy drums, and weird whistling sounds, and everything you could ever ask for. His writing has also improved a lot. For some reason, he's a phenomenal writer when working with Billie, but I never thought his writing was too great on his solo projects. But this is an insane improvement. Please let this album be good...
This is a beautiful ballad between two of the biggest icons in pop music today. I would've never guessed in a million years that they would collaborate, but this is genuinely one of the best ballads I have ever listened to. Their voices are so passionate and strong and complement each other surprisingly well. It's not a unique concept for a year, but it's well-executed, and one of my favorite singles of this year.
Addison went from being a complete nobody, to being an extremely popular TikTok influencer, to making her first EP which has developed a cult-following, to making a banger like this. THAT IS GROWTH. This song is genuinely, objective a great pop song. She's one of the only influencers I think will actually have a career in music. Charli xcx and her support for Addison definitely has played a big role in that, but unlike other influencers, Addison seems to genuinely care about music and her ... read more
This remix is so drastically different from the original in terms of lyrical content, production, and even the vocal delivery, making it hard to compare to the original. Addison works well with this kind of production so I hope she gets the change to work with A. G. sometime in the verse. But, overall, I'm a bit disappointed with the production of this song, A. G. is so insanely talented, I just feel like they could've done so much more with this.
Now THIS is a remix. The production and overall layout of this song is completely changed in this remix. It starts out with the feature, Troye Sivan, which is different for a remix, but makes it feel much more fresh overall. Troye's verse is insanely catchy and the production only elevates it. The arpeggiating synth in the second verse and the bubbling synth in the pre-chorus... A. G. Cook we do NOT deserve you.
Also DUA LIPA WE LOVE. <3
Billie's vocals don't fit as well as I would've hoped, making this remix actually more interesting in the lyrical content. To me, this remix is just a more fun version of the original song, I don't think it was needed but it's so camp it's hard not to vibe with it. The music video just adds onto this.
Lorde perfectly expands this song both sonically and lyrically, her vocals match this production style so well. The gritty synths and over-autotuned vocals are an oddly perfect match for her. She also completely changes the narrative of this song by humanizing what would otherwise just be a character in the original version. Lorde gives the person Charli sings about in the original version a personality with emotions just as complex as Charli's and you really just feel a sense of humanity. ... read more
This funky, disco/electro-pop EP from Rina Sawayama is one of the best debut projects I've ever heard. Rina debuts as a fully-developed artist. The production is better than a lot of the other main pop girls out right now, her vocals fit the genre perfectly but are insanely unique, and the writing is incredibly sharp.
In contrast to her metal-influenced debut album "SAWAYAMA", this album is a shining pop record that sounds like it's full of glitter. This EP is the ... read more
I really don't understand all of the people hating on this, there are so many artists doing this that you praise, when Reneé is doing it better. The songwriting is sincere and emotional yet FILLED with personality in songs like "Poison Poison" and "So What Now". She goes into her experiences being a bisexual woman, her trauma, and even death. I personally think that this is a (near) no-skip album, and overall just a very solid pop record.

In my opinion, this is not better than Superache, but it's not worse either. It's just a different sound, and even though I prefer Superache, I think Conan is really happy with this sound and it works for him. Not my favorite album to come out this year, but I'm not disappointed.
favs: Alley Rose, Fainted Love, Winner

A cute collection of songs from Gracie. I think this was a great start that showcased all of her abilities quite well. Her writing style is very personal yet relatable and her voice is very unique. I can really hear Lorde in a couple tracks especially the last one, and you can definitely hear that on her newer stuff too. But overall I enjoyed this. Cute :p
favs: 21, I miss you I'm sorry, minor

A great debut album from Billie and Finneas. Combines everything they do well, and everything they don't do well. Some songs really work with the dark sound like xanny, ilomilo, and bury a friend. But other ones like "you should see me in a crown" come off a bit cringy. Some songs also end up dragging a lot and feel much longer than they really are. This was a great start though, and there are definitely some great moments. All in all, fun album.

This album is very conflicting to me. I can't think of many moments that really stand out or do something super new and fresh (there are a couple don't get me wrong). Maybe I'm just comparing this to HIT ME HARD AND SOFT too much. I'm obsessed with the vibe and atmosphere that they've created with this album, it's perfect for a cozy night studying, gaming, or just crying in your bed. Finneas' production is great as always but doesn't shine as much, ... read more
