Idk what rating to give this, it’s just an alright album but kinda gives off grower vibes. Might come back to this and update
Favourite Tracks: supernatural, yes and?, imperfect for you, we can’t be friends (wait for your love)
Least Favourite Tracks: idk but the first 5 really all blended into each other
Edit: 60 -> 70
I actually really like Gen-X Cops now. After a few more listens I’m able to tolerate the noise on that track because it feels like it has a melody and isn’t just horrible high-pitched sounds. Capricorn, however, I’m still struggling with. That noise is exactly the type I can’t stand.
With this shift in feelings though I’m more excited for the album now again, and hopeful that this shift in sound won’t completely destroy my opinions of it. ... read more
This album is extremely pleasant to listen to throughout and feels like a well-crafted moody vibe. There are some great moments that occur too after big, long build-ups. The instrumentals are layered in such nice ways for the whole runtime and that full sound can be very engaging, even for a quieter album like this.
What keeps me from scoring this higher is that it’s just too slow. It just runs too lengthy at many moments, and as a result has been an album that I put on in the background ... read more
Super nice to hear her voice again. Really good song, will probably grow on me even more. Chorus is super catchy and production is lovely
Album kinda loses me in the second half unfortunately, which sucks cause this did have a lot of potential. On this album, Green Day actually do a very good job on the songs which attempt a more introspective or heartfelt angle (Dilemma, Goodnight Adeline and Father to a Son to be exact). Green Day’s best songs over the years have very often taken this route or the political route, the latter of which is executed to mixed results here. I like the commentary on The American Dream Is Killing ... read more
Adrianne destroys us once again.
I seriously will not be okay when this album drops. Holy fuck
Very stunning experience, I wasn’t familiar with this artist before but this is really beautiful. The orchestral arrangements are quite grand in places and yet the softness of the vocals and the overall slow pace still give this album a very intimate feel. Despite maybe dragging slightly in the middle, this album is full of emotion and really rewards you for your time. Absolutely worth a listen.

This album is gonna be so fucking good
3/3 on the singles so far. This one is a calming, folky track with (once again) strong psychedelic elements. All of the singles have made great use of psychedelia, blending it seamlessly with other genres to create surreal soundscapes that are guaranteed to hold up brilliantly over time. On this song, MGMT use this genre blend to create a sound that is both rustic and densely layered with electronic elements, making for a truly gorgeous experience that ... read more
Everyone needs to hear this song.
Whilst it may be familiar to Australians, especially those who listen to Triple J or are otherwise familiar with the indie rock scene here, most other people around the world have likely not heard this incredible piece of music and it really saddens me. Sam Cromack pens his complex feelings down in such a comforting way; it’s very relatable yet still dabbles in unique analogies and imagery that set it apart. The lyrics take a simpler approach in the ... read more
As a neurodivergent woman, my mind is constantly racing and constantly clouded. But that all goes away as soon as Adrianne Lenker starts singing,
This song is wonderful.
A beautiful cover of the Scottish folk song The Parting Glass, sung as a tribute to Sinead O’Connor. The Boygenius harmonies are so beautiful as always and the emotion in their voices feels so genuine. This is a gorgeous tribute
Edit: This is apparently also a tribute to Phoebe’s father whose death was announced early this year. Adds even more depth to this
takes an already perfect song and makes it even better somehow
Not a bad effort from Laroi on his debut.
There are some artistic decisions on this album that I don’t think were smart. Basically all of the trap songs here are uninteresting, which to be fair could just be my dislike of the genre, but I feel as if Charlton just doesn’t convey emotions that effectively when he raps. His flows are unmemorable and there aren’t any notable bars to speak of either, I also find the beats to be rather boring. It’s unfortunate that these ... read more
great album from the AJR trio composed of Adele, J. Cole and Radiohead!
EDIT: I don’t hate it actually… in fact the instrumentals are honestly great. The aesthetic of this album is really good. The lyrics are awkward in some places but everything feels quite intentional and nothing is too juvenile to ruin the experience. Still not really any masterful songs but this was a good listen.
Interestingly, Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol’s lead singer) always described himself as being awkward and not super confident around romantic interests of his. His Wikipedia article literally includes a quote from him where he says he is “rubbish with women”.
Well he must at least somewhat know what happy love feels like, cause I can’t fathom how he would otherwise write a song as beautiful as this.
