I do wish I felt the “beast mode” here cause Tones and I actually seems like such a nice person and I haven’t despised her prior music as much as most have (still very much dislike it overall), but this song is boring
Radiohead Discography Deep Dive: 3/9
Can already imagine this score would go up with more listens and it already gets an 88 from me so things are looking good here. This is such a heavily acclaimed album for good reason. The incredible dystopian moodiness of it all is what really sells this album for me but I’m sure everyone has their own feelings and perspectives here, because it’s that type of album. It has a pretty universal draw because of how much is done so right.
As for ... read more
This was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, both in terms of song style and song quality. You have the quiet and subdued Two Weeks Ago transitioning into the loudest and most over the top song on the album, BSC. You have Body Better (perhaps Maisie’s worst song in my opinion) transitioning into one of the best songs on this record, Want You Back.
The overall experience ended up being very positive though. It’s a very imperfect young heartbreak album, but it’s also a lot of fun ... read more
Bon Iver is one of the biggest reasons I’m such a passionate indie folk fan now. Their delicate atmospheric style coupled with wonderful imagery scratches every inch in my brain. And none of their albums do it better than this one.
This album has potentially the best opening stretch of any album I’ve ever listened to (not even exaggerating). Holocene especially holds such a special place in my heart, being one of my all-time favourite tracks. There is so much genius in the way the ... read more
Radiohead Discography Deep Dive: 2/9
Huge improvement over Pablo Honey in every sense of the word. This album is a shift into a much moodier direction, getting a lot more alternative with the production. It also includes a lot more lyrical depth and emotional vocal work.
The band as a whole sounds a lot more emotionally potent this time around too, not just the vocals. The guitar work here is especially great, consistently creating very strong atmospheres that are then upheld or expanded on ... read more
Radiohead Discography Deep Dive: 1/9
Gonna be listening to and reviewing every Radiohead album. Pablo Honey is their first one, widely considered their worst.
In my opinion, it’s alright. A few good songs padded out with a lot of fairly boring (but listenable) grunge that all sounds the same to me. I will be basic and say that I think Creep is the best song here, I know a lot of Radiohead fans are probably sick of seeing that plastered everywhere but I genuinely think it’s a ... read more
Listened to this cause it’s the highest rated Falling In Reverse album. It’s… okay.
This band can actually create an atmosphere and provide the framework for songs that feel genuine and not cringe. However, as many have pointed out, Ronnie Radke can be a pretty painful vocalist and I think he does ruin many moments here. A couple never had great ideas to begin with but for the most part these are decent ideas. Occasionally they come together, often the vocals take me out of ... read more
Wanted to review this to support an AOTY user, especially seeing as this album has much fewer ratings than Ken’s previous album (which he himself said they weren’t proud of)
A Vicious Cycle - 65 (a little too long but not a bad start. vocal delivery hits at points, maybe slightly forced in others. some good lyrics, really like the “I’ll come back to you when I know who I am” line)
War Outside 22 - 72 (woah, what a switch up. this is usually not my style at all ... read more
EDIT 2: 63 -> 66
Meltdown actually goes so hard, I always liked it a lot but I didn’t acknowledge how good it really sounds
EDIT: 58 -> 63
Title track grew on me and I was a bit harsh on Save My Life. All of my other opinions stand. On A Night Like Tonight and Must Be Love still infuriate me but the album is okay.
Original Review:
Not terrible but could’ve been so much more. Filled with cliches (a few that are used well to be fair) and moments that are just trying too hard ... read more

Yeah this is good. A lot of the style of the album took some growing for me, it took a second to fully appreciate what makes this album fun and unique.
Brutal is an example of a song I hated at first, but nah it’s a pretty fun song and the delivery of the line “god, it’s brutal out here” is classic and topical. Jealousy, Jealousy was a similar journey for me, hated the scratchy nature of the song for a while and then came ... read more
I didn’t like Body Better at first and it has only grown off me even more since, it is so obnoxious and annoying to me. Felt like such a far cry from her sharp and smooth songwriting on You Signed Up For This, am album I still very much enjoy. This song had me very worried about how I would feel about the new album when it drops.
Lost The Breakup I thought was a lot better, featuring a fun display of confidence, neat production and some soaring vocals. It’s not a perfect song, but ... read more
EDIT 70 -> 75 this stayed strong in my rotation
Dusty and I sail on a Boat over the Salt Water away from the Sycamore trees on The Hills of Aberfeldy. There is a Spark between us as we realise we have reached the End Of Youth, it is real now. As the night falls we look up at the star of Vega, and we want to sleep but we can’t see the beautiful star with our Eyes Closed. There are no clouds in the sky, no Curtains to shield our view. He is Colourblind but only Borderline, it ... read more

It’s understandable that many who have been fans of The National over their decorated career take a huge liking to their rockier, more energetic albums and tracks. Iconic tracks such as Mr. November, Fake Empire and Don’t Swallow The Cap exemplify a sound that many fell in love with. As the band has evolved, their sound has become less energetic and more mellow. This undeniably ... read more
surely we get track ratings for this so we can individually rate all 199 tracks
Good song, the emotion here feels genuine and quite thought-provoking. Really like his vocal performance too and the stripped back nature of the song is really nice. Looking forward to the album, I think this style of song fixes the widely discussed issue of his songs sounding annoying or too commercial.
