For me it's one of the weaker ones off the album so far-- the vocals are solid but I can barely hear the early lyrics-- feels a little too distorted maybe. Great second half. Still really solid, but not my favorite from this record yet :)
So far, I think Arlo's writing is just as tight on this album as it was on Collapsed-- but it's missing the rich production of its predecessor. Not to say it's produced poorly, but I personally find it a lot less satisfying. On Collapsed there are only a few ... read more
While imperfect, it's got some incredible moments like the intro and some really satisfying pop punk production, even though it's less rich than his new work.
My original score is a 77 but aint no way its a 33 so I'm giving it a 94 to skew the score muahahaha
Love it-- the light 80s influences work well here and it's one of the most emotional songs from him yet. Production is complex and satisfying. :)
In a predictable repeat of past events (feeling eh about the tiktok snippet, then loving the song), here is Bad Note-- a song with incredible mixing, complex production and a solid core theme. The vocals are just amazing on this. One of the best MICO songs yet.
(87--> 82, Still great but the melodies are a bit more boring on relisten)
Look... I know this lineup is stupid on paper, but honestly it actually works for me-- kinda slaps idc
I think JVKE/Muni Long's segments work great together-- Kodak's verse is fine, though personally I don't love his style on this track. Can't say I loved Jimin's voice either here. NLE's verse was solid.
The best so far off the new album. Love the sound even if it doesn’t lyrically or sonically resonate in the same level as the first album.
Didn't expect this quite at this level but on first listen, this project is actually really solid and it's very disappointing to see the AOTY score so low already. I'm not an Ed fan overall but this is really heartfelt, with some solid production choices (albeit, occasionally predictable... not nearly as much as past records.) The writing is also much improved, even though it's occasionally a little bit simple. Even if AOTY puts this album in the red, give it a shot. Not a playlist album but ... read more
Thought it was pretty good on first listen but it's grown on me even more. While tracks like No Enhancers and Questions can feel repetitive, these songs are filled with character and are really enjoyable. Glad to see people are enjoying it.
Also y is the average track rating 70+ and the rating for the album is like 64?
I really love the verses, but I can't stand the chorus vocals. Love Pmbata's stuff but this one has some of the highest and lowest moments of his songs.
Pretty good, Bree's voice (who I am not familiar with) was a bit grating on this one. I have heard good things about her other music though, so will not judge the rest of her work based on this. Khalid's voice was great, though maybe a little cheesy from time to time here, which is rare.
Solid single-- not quite as creative as her first album and her higher tone here is slightly annoying but I do really like it.
TL;DR: NF's worst album, but if you hate it the first time, it's better on the second listen.
HOPE is absolutely to me Nate's worst album, especially lyrically, but I hated this on the first listen and it's better on the second one. He doesn't go as lyrically deep here and is braggy very often but I think the new style sometimes works, even though I don't really like Happy or Running much. The biggest issue for me is that apart from the title track, these all lyrically have the content of ... read more
Even though this EP doesn't break new ground, the production is bouncy and overall super enjoyable. Glad I found this one. Check out her song Miles Away with Ant Saunders-- it's actually beautiful.
Usually I won't pander by giving super high ratings that aren't deserved but there's no way a cover like this deserves a 21 lol -- nothing crazy but no 21 either
