Lowkey revolutionary but in the worst way possible. Some cool ideas and cool songs, but some songs are complete filler with nothing interesting going on. Weirdly enough this does have some nostalgia for me, which is something I didn’t expect to say for an album that released this decade. Oh well
Wish it set itself apart from folklore more. Just kinda feels like a slightly worse version than it.
I think I went into this with my expectations set too high. I thought this was gonna be a masterful album filled with all the classic Beatles charms. It isn’t but it’s certainly not bad
Even from a young age, his voice was something special. Really carries these pretty bland songs.
Beautiful exploration of sounds. Feels like the modern album this band needed to make. A wonderful listening experience
Some fun 2000’s indie rock that’s well made, well sung, and well produced. Overall a fun time that doesn’t overstay its welcome
Just by reading some of the song titles, I thought this album would blend together in my mind. However, that’s not really the case. While some parts blend together, most songs feel distinct, mainly from the rapping. Each party does their part well, which comes together to make an incredible album.
A 90’s version of a classic doom album. Some great songs, some weird interludes, all very doom at the end of the day. Even on this first big album, he had a voice and identity.
Really well executed music. Nothing else to really say about it, it just has really solid fundamentals
A really standard, uninteresting album with some standouts, but overall just really nothing special.
A beautiful work of ambience. Makes me feel so lost in its atmosphere that I can’t find the way out. One of the best Brian eno and Harold budd albums I’ve heard in awhile.
An amazing display of writing and production. Just so effortlessly cool, collective, and thoughtful. A wonderful listen all around.
Starts pretty strong, finishes pretty eh. Not a whole lot of unique ideas at play, so the latter half kinda blends together.
While it has some strange choices, I still enjoyed the album overall. Another helping of some good slowcore, just with some strange, but good covers, which I didn’t expect.
While I think this album is great, I just don’t think it’s for me. It’s a preference thing.
