David Bowie has always inspired me over his near 50 year long career. His flair, charisma and musical style has always been one I've liked, and this album really felt like a summary of his entire career for me. Let's start with influences.

A remarakable album and an incredible start to the Rolling Stone list. This is an indie album littered with vibrancy and colour, emotion from every angle. It is both immensely orchestral and painstakingly personal. The loss of marks comes in some of the melodrama of the lyrics in songs such as "Wake Up" or "Crown of Love". This album did not click in the way it clearly did with others. I really can't get into the sound on this album, because as much focus as I put in, every song was so painfully similar, and I am aware that mbv were on the frontiers of a new genre, but the overbearing, droning guitars just became boring.

I was completely swept off of my feet listening to Ants. A brilliant post-rock achievement that will for sure define the year 2022.
