Very impressive production with creative atmosphere construction that encapsulates you to imagine the process of walking up a mountain. While not the most consistent album still holds up by the vocal performance and puts you in a mindful enduring journey. With the perfect songs Loading and the outro concluding the journey this album is truly considered an out of body experience
Sampha always had a unique sound profile that transcends you in his production, vocals and concepts. Whether it's Inclination Compass or the transition between Wave Therapy and What If You Hipnotize Me it always strikes you down with emotions only sampha can express in such quality. There are some songs on the project that I'd deem weaker but overall it's not your ordinary R&B singer, it's the representation of unsettling conclusions.
4th dimension is very comparable to utopia. Better features, same level of production, lyricism was a bit weaker, very consistent, creative flows inspired by Travis's discography and unimaginably close to saying it has better songs than a lot of Travis's songs. Only bad Ai voice imitations were drake, playboy carti and frank oceans part wasn't really "anti R&B" but was still good. Overall I'm very impressed and waiting patiently for a full original moving in silence project. They ... read more
the production is to be remembered in the very far future for the dreamy, psychadelic, heavy, and bold production styles on songs like THANK GOD or SIRENS or TELEKINESIS. Vocal performance was addictive as well and the feature list was perfect other than the fact that Don Toliver wasn't included
hard to call out a bad song, company and euphoria stands lower across the tracklist
very unique sound, almost like a journey. You start by not understanding what's happening and end with questioning what you missed along the way
Lean Beef Patty broke me
fenatryl tester healed me
Burfict solidified me
Kingdom hearts key transended me
Danny screws up some parts and I've had a hard time listening to the lyrics but honestly the project surpassed anything I had in mind
Production: 77.5 - it sure had some high notes but other times it felt somewhat generic
Storytelling: 75 - had a good story but it wasn't as engaging
Features: 80 - I didn't know who was the woman doing the vocals but I felt like this album was special for lil yachty and it didn't need much features
Consistency: 70 - the vibe was really beautiful but it was a bit repetitive between the 7th track and the 12th track
Replay Value: 85 - the kind of album that I'd repeat a lot then get bored of ... read more
Production: 98 - From the introduction with sorry4dying to cassini's division's static ending it is one of the most unique experiences I've witnessed in an album. With each time ending the album feeling like I should repeat it. Danny Brown's verse was a bit mushy, even though it's the point I still feel a bit irritated listening to his verse
Storytelling: 100 - The most I've been engaged in an album story
Features: 90 - Perfect for their needs but same issue with Danny Brown. I ... read more
