Misfits - Earth A.D. / Wolfs Blood

It's just some generic and edgy power punk. Not really my thing.

Aztec Camera - High Land, Hard Rain

Decent stuff nothing too impressive. Liked a song here and there but was mostly indifferent to what I was hearing.

Daniel Johnston - Yip / Jump Music

This is either the best or the worst thing you have heard today. While I totally understand why you wouldn't like this album but it's simple, DIY, indie, inside your bedroom, self produced, written, and sung, singer-songwriter album that seemed like it was made with pure passion for the art of music from some guy with the cheap piano thing, a toddlers animal farm toy and their whiney voice to work with had my ass captivated the entire hour and two minutes runtime. Does it sound kinda samey? ... read more

Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

The blueprint for an amazing classic metal album. I mean I cant explain just how much this shit rules! It's an epic adventure full of killing and death though and through and you can't help but join in on the battle of a lifetime to this music that just hits so fucking hard that you get brain damage. HIGHLY recommend you check this out it's some of the best metal I have ever heard and it's not even Iron Maiden's best album apparently???? My head might literally explode if it gets even more epic ... read more

U2 - War

As a certified cringe GEN-Z whomst by being amongst the internet culture I have always joined the the hive mind in thinking that U2 sucks and only boomers like them even though I only heard like that one song of theirs out in the wild. Well today I finally listened to their album called "WAR" and for like the 90% of the runtime my bias against them was becoming my actual thoughts of them. It was the boring 80's alternative rock that I don't care for...

Then I heard "Red ... read more

国分友里恵 [Yurie Kokubu] - Relief 72 Hours

Eh wasn't all that impressed by this city pop album. I did like "Weekend Love" tho.

マライア [Mariah] - うたかたの日々 [Utakata no Hibi]
60

Some decent art pop with the highlight of the record being "Hana ga Saitara."

Bonnie Tyler - Faster Than the Speed of Night
55

Other than the popular "Total Eclipse of the Heart" it's the generic and overdramatic 80's pop rock that should stay in the 80's.

杏里 [Anri] - Bi・Ki・Ni

I swear this cover art wouldn't be as attractive as it is if that sexy hat wasn't there, like DAMN that's a nice hat. The girl is cute too I guess.

This is some real good city pop and is a vast improvement from the last offering from Anri. The voice is beautiful soulful and passionate. The music is funky, groovy, poppy, and also soulful for the ballads. It's just a consistent and enjoyable listen throughout the record and you won't get bored of it. Good stuff!

I'm not usually an ambient/ minimalist person but damn this is some damn good minimalism. Once you decide to place your gentle attention to the soft music it grabs a hold of you and takes you on a journey! I like how each track has a different focus. The opener has more natural ambience be the main focus. The second track offers some Xylophone action. The third has the flute. The closer has chimes and drums.

I liked everything except the third track, the closer is my favorite of the bunch so ... read more

Pylon - Chomp

Who knew that punk could be a pleasant listen, it like goes against the entire identity of the genre but it fucking works???? It took a while for me to warm up to this album but as it went along I started enjoying myself more. Plus the female voice is very nice and fits the grooves of the album well. It's a well produced album and the forty two minutes go by pretty quickly and it's over before you know it. For now I think it's a solid album but it can easily have it grow on me in further ... read more

Cocteau Twins - Head Over Heels

Ethereal and gorgeous.

I have heard a thing or two about Cocteau Twins and if this album is anything to go by they easily have the potential to put out an AOTY contender. This album isn't at that level yet but they most definitely have the tools to absolutely blow me away. They held my curiosity before but now they have my unaltered attention. What a grand statement they have made with this album!

A very interesting mix of new wave and psych rock especially in the opening track "The Cutter". I really hoped they utilize this fun sound more often than they did for this album but when they did, I was all for it! The album is unfortunately hit or miss for me but the hits sure did make a impact! I'm looking forward to seeing what these guys has to offer in future albums!

Yellowman - Zungguzungguguzungguzeng

Some very enjoyable Reggae from the man the myth the legend that is the Yellowman.

I enjoyed this LP more than his last effort and with the addition of the mad man himself Mr. Fathead there's absolutely nothing standing against these two from taking over the reggaeton universe! It's a nice hidden gem that is so charming and lovable that I couldn't help but have a soft spot for these chaps. Despite them rizzing me up I am still not giving pity points. This is still a very good album but ... read more

Oh my goodness Her voice is a god damn drug that I forgot just how addictive it is. She didn't even need to do anything crazy to have me in the palm of her hand. I am SO ready for the fucking album! Naked Eyes - Burning Bridges

A decent Synthpop album that doesn't do anything particularly exciting but no song is a skip either. The most interesting thing about this album was me learning that these were the guys that did the song "Always Something There to Remind Me" and if you don't know the song by name just play it for three seconds you'll immediately recognize it. That's not the only reason to give the album a go, there's also a few other tracks that are genuinely pretty damn good synthpop tracks that ... read more

The definition of pretentious and try hard. Funny how it actually turned out to be a huge influence and inspiration anyways for many iconic metal bands in the years that followed. I didn't care for it but I am just that one guy with bad opinions.

I would say "WTF is this garbage???" But that's what they want me to say so I'll compliment them. They know what music they want to make and give zero fucks. This recipe turns out to work pretty well for them all in all. There's a couple songs like the opener that I genuinely did not like. The songs I did enjoy has that nasty fun energy that I like to think that Pigfuck is all about. So at least check out the recommendations to see what you make of it.

On girl in red - if i could make it go quiet
"@AidenBowe45 I am likely not the intended audience since I am a grown ass 26 year old listening to these lyrics. I may not be fully aware of what the kiddos are into these days, but when I was an edgy teenager in middle school, shit like this banged for the girlies."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@OldTask This album is definitely geared towards the artsy fartsy folks that appreciate just how deep into the rabbit hole this experience takes them. Definitely takes an experienced or a very open ear to truly "get it." Not everyone does, but the ones that do praise this shit up and down like I do."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@Moosky This album is fit for a very particular meditative mindset you have to be in for the Inherent strangeness to pack as hard of a punch as it does. Like many albums I love this is like a sonic drug trip that is more to be experienced than enjoyed as regular music. This album has a legendary status because it goes deep into this surreal experimental soundscape unapologetically and not everyone is going to get it, but those who do are immensely rewarded. I recommend you to maybe expand your horizons and listen to ambient/Psychedelic/ experimental releases similar to this so your pallet is more used to what this amazing album has to offer. Cont."

On David Bowie - Station to Station
"@Jakeisthedoctor Man I really should delete and reevaluate these albums I reviewed in my early days when my taste wasn't nearly as refined yet expansive as it is now. Back in 2023 I was throwing my inexperienced taste into classics head first with no idea what I was talking about. It's part of the reason why I am exploring the 60s and 70s again along with bolstering my limited playlists. To great success too with my 60s playlist going from 90 tracks to over 750 and growing as I am now appreciative of the greatness that I am consuming. I promise when I get to these albums again down the road, I will likely have a more reasonable take. For now, just enjoy how unhinged I was in 2023."
On Vapora - Oceanside Mall
"@frogofprog oh yeah, Vapora. I definitely had mixed feelings with this artist. They had some genuinely great vaporwave along with...well ones that missed the mark. Yeah I was a bit more loose with my reviews back in 2023 just experimenting with how I liked to present my reviews. It results in some reviews I am still proud of to some I just go crazy on. It is also an era where I was still forming my tastes on like twenty+ genres at once so don't take my early reviews that seriously."
On Drake - Scorpion
"@Triplo Thanks! I don't often have something to say about an album these days past a standard passing observation, but popular releases from the 2010s are a good way to get be talking at least a little bit."

On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Good for them and the people that praise their writing. That's not the reason I fell in love with music so I don't focus on it. And that is just as fine as those who do the opposite and completely mute the music and gush over the writing. Different strokes, we all appreciate art in our own individual ways."
On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Maybe I'll appreciate that part of the experience when I decide to give a shit about the lyrics. Until then, those pink floyd classics offer an amazing sonic experience regardless of whatever they are yapping about."
