I'm a little biased. I'll OFC love music related to HSR. HOWEVER, the English version of this song is mediocre as fuck. The version sung by Jason Zhang is actually pretty good and is what I'm rating off of.
It's... Metal covers? That's all there really is to it. I love touhou, I love metal, and the covers to a faithful job in translating them to metal, so it gets a thumbs up from me. I still prefer the originals though. Something about this still sounds slightly generic and lacks charm.
BMTH manages to keep me intrigued and excited for their new LP with yet another pretty decent single. I've not really been blown out of the water by anything, but it's entertaining. The outro dampers my enjoyment though.
Generic as fuck. I know deathcore is hard to make unique but how many times will you simply do chugs without any switch up in tempo? The vocals sound horribly produced and honestly aren't even that impressive. I much prefer the sound that Alex had on older CG, even if it was raw and sometimes sounded terrible. muuuch better than the overproduced and layered vocals on this track.
The intro sucks ass, the breakdown is generic, and everything else sounds like a muddled and boring mess.
Fuck. YES.
And here I thought Orphan was the only EP this year that would blow me off my feet. THIS fucking rocks. Not as much as Manifesto, but everything I loved about that EP is true here. The heaviness, the vocals, EVERYTHING flows so well. I also love the mixing on this EP. Nothing muddles together and becomes incoherent.
Very chaotic, and never seems to stay in place for a second. It's a unique sound being pumped into Thall, and I commend the effort to try adding something new to it.
I fuck with this soundtrack harder than the next worlds, MAINLY because of Wildfire. I mean, come the fuck ON.
Not just wildfire though, this whole OST is really well composed. Kudos.
I fuck with this soundtrack so hard. Argue with a wall.
Mix lacks any power behind it, which is the opposite of what you want in a deathcore song. The drums sound like shit because of it, and we are talking IA computer drums levels of bad. The vocals got bland after Dynasty and lacks any real depth to them (I hate goblin vocals. Easy asf to do and are the deathcore equivalent of low-quality bait). Go back to The Interstice, BoS. This isn't working.
ORIGINAL: I get the hype behind it, and the reason it has such a high score, but this album manages to upset my senses every ten seconds until my head is pounding 3 songs in. I get the masterful musicality at play, but from a pure listening perspective, this album absolutely blows. So I'll meet it at the middle.
Edit (60 - 81): I've grown a better appreciation for it as of late. A lot of the later songs have sonically clicked with me and don't disturb me as badly as it used ... read more
This shit ROCKS. I love Knocked Loose. that's enough said.
Okay, serious. This EP is amazing, and I find myself coming back to this. Some people hate the screaming style but I absolutely adore it. The story in this is amazing too, and needs more focus put onto it. Not even mentioning the instrumental, which just hits that nerve that makes me blissfully enjoy an EP.
Beginning of the end for Crown The Empire. The songs are uninspiring, and the vocals don't have the power they did in the other two albums before this.
"I found god clutching a razor blade, he said look at the fucking mess they've made, they'd trade their hearts if they were made of gold, but they're as worthless as the souls they sold"
Yeah, this album is fucking amazing.
If I had the time to write everything I love abt this LP it would take me hours that I unfortunately don't have, but holy SHIT. I was never a metalcore guy, but now I'm convinced I just wasn't looking in the right direction. This just has that BITE that I adore ... read more
Vocals are good, Instrumental is better than their last two LPs IMO, but there is something that is just mediocre in this song that brings it down for me. It's still alright, but it doesn't impress me. It misses that bite that AOGHAU and Holy Hell had, and just kind of exists? I don't feel anything from it, which has become a common thing with Architects here recently.
This rating is actually pretty deceiving, because I fucking love songs on this album. As a serious album, it falls flat on its face and get stuck in a ditch, but as a raunchy, hilariously heavy fun time? It is truly something else. If I need a smile in a day, I put this album on and immerse myself in the shitty innuendos.
So yeah, one of my favorite albums- actually no, my favorite HALF album.
About half of this album is serious, Home Depot-esque songs about how they are so badass and ... read more
I. Am. Speechless. This shit rocks. I don't even have any complex words for this cause this LP ISNT complex. It's just pure fucking ANGER, and I love it.
Plus, the intro is chilling. That got me hooked immediately.
