IM BACK NEW MUSIQUE
I think this is the first new release I’ve reviewed? Idk, but this thing is just really fucking cool. Takes you on a trip. Really charming, psychedelic, at times a little sinister even. Pretty, dreamy, head nodding from back to front. If this is what pop music is going to sound like for the foreseeable future, I’m very pleased.

Playboi Carti - Die Lit

It’s hard to find anyone from my generation that doesn’t love this thing. Easily a classic hip hop album already. The only fault it has is you have to be in the mood for it.

Just checked this out on my flight, rip Jason Molina, what an incredible songwriter. The collaborations on here were stellar, in particular I loved Lawrence Peters performance on The Old Black Hen, genuinely stunning country vocals. Farewell Transmission is an instant favorite of mine, I definitely haven’t heard a live recording this good in a LONG time maybe ever, and everything else on here is just great.

Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City

This album is so comforting, I don’t really know why either. It just makes me really happy I guess :)

Lil Ugly Mane - UNEVEN COMPROMISE
97

It’s so funny to me how, feasibly, if he really wanted to, lil ugly mane could be a top 10 mc of his generation. This is as good of story telling that I’ve ever heard in hip hop.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞

Horror. Perfectly executed horror.

Jeff Buckley - Grace

This album is the benchmark for what all musicians strive to be in terms of songwriting.

Arctic Monkeys - AM

This album really fucks with me. It’s actually the first album I listened to the whole way through. I was hypnotized listening to ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ For the first time when my friends mom played it in her car. I Shazammed it and instantly fell in love with the song, and subsequently listened to the whole record. I owe a lot to this album in the way that it sparked a new love and interest in music, and I still enjoy songs like the aforementioned Do I Wanna Know, Knee Socks, and ... read more
