I REALLY loved this album. I'm a whore for chamber pop and this is chamber pop done right. Lots of people try to achieve this fairy-like whimsical sound and fall flat, but I think Porcelain Stars did a great job of achieving it. Most of the critiques I've seen on this record is that the vocals are annoying but I think they are really unique and cool! Ya'll supposedly love "ugly" male voices like Cameron Winter, Jason Molina, and Phil Elverum but god forbid a small ... read more
Title track and the closer were near perfection. Perhaps muddles together a little in the middle? But honestly I don’t care this kinda blew me away so. This is my first album from drug bug or willy Rodrigues and I’m VERY impressed. Super stoked to dive into some of their other stuff.
I think I need to let this album marinate a little more, because I don’t know if I fully resonate with the incredible hype this record has received. However, I’m still very impressed with this album. Production is top tier and I’m obsessed with Phil Elverum’s sound.
I read a review before going into this album that said this was about Phil Elverum climbing up a mountain (quite literally) and it gave me a whole new level of respect and appreciation for this record. It’s beautiful. Deep and inspiring. I’m so impressed with this record
This is so gut-wrenchingly beautiful I don’t know if I have it in me to come back to this album soon. To listen to it front to back was overwhelmingly sad. This record put me in a dark place man. It’s just so fucking sad. There’s not much else to say really. Other than being struck by how devastating this is, the lyrics are fucking beautoful and poetic and raw. It’s startling and it’s real and it’s really tough to swallow. And yet it’s beautiful and ... read more
This album was really amazing, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Natalia Lafourcade I was unaware of your game. Super pleasant jazzy production that I didn't necessarily expect. Definitely will be coming back to this record!
WOW THIS BLEW ME AWAY. So much so that after the full listen threw, I listened to the whole record again immediately after. This production is unmatched. Certainly reminiscent of the Fishmans whom I LOVE. Incredible, creative work by this band. I just fell in love after one listen.
WOWWWW this is an incredible experimental hip-hop album. Truly blew me away. Felt like floating through an endless sea. Production is TOP TEIR, absolutely 10/10 and the lyrics only serves to compliment it. I thoroughly enjoyed this album
an EXTREMELY underrated psychedelic pop record. The fact that this hasn't gotten more attention hurts my soul. for an album that came out in NINETEEN SIXTY-EIGHT it is incredibly progressive and impressive. definitely contains that 60s feel in a lot of ways (very beach boys type of sound on some of these tracks) but the way they play with instrumentation and synth to achieve that psychedelic sound is frankly incredibly given when this was released. I come back to this album a lot
I really enjoyed this album. It's very experimental (surprised this came out in 1972). I feel like to appreciate it more, however, I need to dive into the lyrics

this album was really fun and funky but it soon became too much for me. I appreciate it for what it is, but what it is is just not my vibe. I wish I enjoyed this album more but I don't think I'm going to come back to it often. It's fun tho!
I mean yea it's near perfection. Best live album oat
I thought this album was super nice actually. I think I prefer it to some of their other albums. Super cool prog rock with sort of a radiohead feel to it as well.
it's nice but you're better than this king crimson. still fwu heavy tho and Cadence and Cascade is a fire tune.
