Not too much to unpack here. It's groovy, danceable, and such a good mood of an album. The vibes are immaculate especially on the first half of the tracklist. Discovery proves music can evoke emotion with little to no lyrics and simply just upbeat, futuristic instrumentals.

This album had so much potential man. If only it didn't suffer the same fate as post-2015 Drake albums: BLOAT. A bunch of it.
The production is decent. Notable moments include the Frank Ocean sample on “Virginia Beach” and the Conductor Williams beat on “8am in Charlotte.” Stylistically, this album is a bit all over the place as usual. You go from trap beats to laid-back R&B to… “Gently.” Drake's trap approach is decent; a little flat at ... read more
Starboy is one of The Weeknd’s more accessible, mainstream albums, where he thematically focuses on love and toxic relationships once again. This time, though, he brings in a new soundscape to the table with lots of electronic, synth production aided by Daft Punk and others, along with a few trap-oriented beats he sings over. Combining these instrumentals with Abel’s great vocals, the album provides an absurd number of catchy bangers from the well-known hits to the simpler deep ... read more
Drake and Future show solid chemistry on this collab tape. Combining his sound with Future’s usual producers like Southside and Metro, Drake does does a great job at adapting to a more trap-oriented atmosphere, providing some catchy flows and decent singing. He even does a carry job on “I’m The Plug” with his fast-tempo verse and provides a strong lyrical cut with “30 for 30 Freestyle.” Future as well spazzes out on songs like “Digital Dash,” ... read more
Simulation Theory is a bit of a guilty pleasure album for me, cause I truly don't believe there's any bad songs on here. Sure there's basic and not well executed ideas, but the worst songs on here are mid at worst.
This album centers around the perception that reality is actually a simulation. Even with this somewhat cool idea, the songwriting honestly isn't great; it's pretty okay at best. Musically though, Muse integrate electronic and synth elements into their ... read more
