Rocket Power is the tribute album to Later rapper and Migos, Takeoff. Before I say anything, I want to say RIP Takeoff. His impact on not only the Migos, but the rap game is undeniable. He always came in with the best flows on every song. Anyways, this is Quavo's first solo album since his QUAVO HUNCHO album and this is a drastic improvement. This album has an extremely strong start with Feuled Up and Patty Cake. Honestly, Patty Cake might be my favorite collab between Quavo and Takeoff, maybe ... read more
So Much Fun is debut studio album for Atlanta based rapper Young Thug. First of all, before I say anything about the album I just want to say free Jeffery man, shits just sad what they're doing to him. When I first heard this album, I didn't know how I felt about it. But with more listens, I'm finding this album so much more enjoyable and..... fun. Thug is just having fun with this album and I'm happy with it. Sure, some of these songs it feels like Thug is just dragging his ... read more
The Pink Tape is the long awaited album from Lil Uzi Vert and this is Uzi's most experimental album. Uzi tries out all these different styles. Trying out the rage trap that Playboi Carti established. Or going into metal and doing a terrible cover of Chop Suey. I think the second half of the tracklist is a lot better than the first half because after x2, I really don't get a song that I particularly like till Nakamura. The albums picks up steam from there. With that being said I do like the ... read more
College Park provides a nice origin story for Logic and this album is a tale of Logic in 2011 before all of the fame and success he would later have. I know that the major gripe with this album are the skits. Yes, some of them tend to drag on for a little bit, but I appreciate the humor on some of them and the skits are what this album connected. The album and the story would feel incomplete without the skits and some of them are entertaining to listen to. With that being said, I do enjoy a ... read more
Graduation is the third studio album for Kanye and this is arguably Kanye's most iconic. The legendary samples and production on this album from I Wonder, to Stronger or Champion. This album really has it all (even Coldplay) and some of my favorite Knaye tracks are on here. Songs like I Wonder, Good Morning, Flashing Lights, Stronger, Good Life, and Everything I Am are all tremendous tracks. I even love the tribute song to Jay-Z on Big Brother. As far as content matter goes, Kanye has a lot to ... read more
CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST continues the incredible run Tyler, The Creator has been on. Between Flower Boy, IGOR, and CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, this might go down as one of the best three album runs of all time. This is Tyler's most braggadocious album and this album contains the most bangers out of any Tyler, The Creator album. Songs like HOT WIND BLOWS, RUNITUP, LEMONHEAD, and JUGGERNAUT are certified hood classics. Then there are more of the softer cuts like WUSYANAME and SWEET / I THOUGHT YOU ... read more
Dawn FM is an amazing retro throwback of am album with all of these electronic synths that are packed with nostalgia. This is the sequel to The Weeknd's 2020 album After Hours and Dawn FM is proven to be a great successor. Not to mention, getting Jim Carry to narrate the album was tremendous to hear. This album takes place in purgatory after The Weeknd "dies" at the end of After Hours. The concept behind this album is genius having Jim Carry narrate the radio station that is 103.5 ... read more
Metro Boomin comes through with his first solo album since NOT ALL HEORES WEAR CAPES in 2018 and I bleive that this is better than NOT ALL HEORES WEAR CAPES. Metro comes in and brings in a lot of familiar faces and Metro brings out the best in almost every artist. I haven't been this excited to hear Don Toliver since Heaven or Hell and this is the best I've ever heard Future and Young Thug in a long while. A$AP Rocky and Takeoff on Fell The Fiyaaah were incredible and even better beat from ... read more
Trench is a helluva adventure to go through. The story and concept behind this whole album is borderline genius and no other artist is even doing anything remotely like this, this honestly was one of the best rollouts for an album I have ever seen. Twenty One Pilots have created this world where not only their fans, but everyone else are invested, intrigued, and confused. The whole Dema storyline behind this album is insane and it's crazy to think about this idea was thought about when ... read more
Tyler, The Creator comes through with a break-up album that might be the best one I've ever heard. From front-to-back, it's clear that Tyler had a vision and that vision was executed perfectly. The concept of this album is outstanding comparing the cycle of falling of love with the monstrous creature that is IGOR. The songwriting on this album is tremendous. The song concepts, some of the rapping performances Tyler has, especially on GONE, GONE / THANK YOU are absolutely exceptional. The ... read more
Legends Never Die is the first posthumous release of the late Juice WRLD and it is actually a well put together posthumous release. This feels cohesive, everything is well put together, some of Juice's best songs are on here, and the features on here make sense. As far as the solo cuts go, Wishing Well, Righteous, Conversations, and Bad Energy are very powerful songs with powerful messages. Juice isn't the greatest songwriter, but his words on Legends Never Die feel so magical, it's ... read more
Luv Is Rage 2 is the debut studio album from Lil Uzi Vert there are so many iconic songs like XO Tour Llif3, The Way Life Goes, Neon Guts, and 20 Min. A lot of my favorite Lil Uzi Vert songs are on this album and this album has endless replay value. That being said, there are a few songs in the tracklist that are not up to par with the album. I love how Lil Uzi was able to carry this album with minimal features and most of these songs are solo songs. Though I am surprised that there were no ... read more
Die Lit is Playboi Carti's debut studio album and this was revolutionary for the trap scene. What I love most about this album is its simplicity. This album is the definition of less is more. Takes Love Hurts for example. The beat is so simple but how Carti and Travis use their voice and adlibs as an instrument to enhance the beat. Not to mention the Pi'erre Bourne production is flawless. Pi'erre and Carti are a tremendous rapper, producer duo. The features are absolutely stacked with Travis ... read more
I surpringly enjoyed this album from Trippie as some of my favorite songs from him are on this album. That is not to say this album doesn't have flaws. There are a few songs on the backend that I honestly could've done without. New Money, Space Time, and iPhone are all pretty mid and the tracklist could really benefit without these songs. Anyway, this is Trippie's take of the new rage sound that Mr. Playboi Carti started on his Whole Lotta Red album. I think Trippie actually pulled this off ... read more
Rodeo is Travis Scott's debut studio album and this album is Travis Scott's best album. Let's Start off with the production on this album. The amount of countless beat switches on this album and they perfectly transition into one another is a true talent and some of my favorite Travis Scott songs ever are on this album. 90210, Oh My Dis Side, Nightcrawler, Antidote, Pray 4 Love, and Maria, I'm Drunk are all insanely catchy and the production take these songs to a whole other level. This album ... read more
ASTROWORLD is Travis Scott's third studio album and this is also Travis's most commercially successful album. ASTROWORLD sees Travis still continuing his psychedelic trap wave that he help pioneer with this 2015 release of Rodeo. Songs like SKELETONS, ASTROTHUNDER, and the first half of STARGAZING still see Travis in his psychedelic bag. These songs are all incredible from front to back and though this album is more focused on trap beats, Travis and his features all bring exceptional ... read more
Alright, Travis Scott is back with his first album in nearly five years. After five hears Travis has once again reinvented his sound with this album. I know there is a lot of discussion of how connected to Yeezus this album is. It's important to remember that Travis had a handful of the production on Yeezus so this is more of him coming full circle. The production on this album is nothing less than perfect and Travis once again immerses the listener into whatever world he is creating like he ... read more
