After watching Fantano's review, i kinda get it.
I agree with him about the lack of lirycal content, apart from Holy ghost which i think it's one of the best lirycal song i've ever seen from Rocky, but i think he west too harsh on the rating.
Altought bein a big step down from his previous projects, this contain A$AP's best song.
The deluxe adds a lot of incredible tracks!
Ghetto simphony is one of A$AP Rocky's best songs
A$ap abandoning his old style to experiment it has really good potential, but majority of the second half of the album is full of filler songs.
Deep, thought-provoking topics hidden behind beatiful music soundscapes and vocals from Frank Ocean, wonderful.
Some good songs, but i think 50's Voice isn't really for rap.
It's just a "Classic" because it was one of the most commercially successful gangsta rap album but other than that it's not that Special.
From the last project, there are more good songs, but the weaker songs are not that good.
I didn't know that even since the start, J. Cole, was already one of the greatest rappers of his era.
Obviously this album is nothing special compared to the rest of his project, but there're some gems that surprised me.
if this is one of his best albums, i don't waste my time listening to the rest of his discography.
holy fucking cornball.
There surely some of michael's best songs on this project, and I very like the way he revives this genre of "new jack swing" with his new producers, but there's some kind of "flaws" in my opinion, maybe caused by my not critic ears, but this being one of michael, if not his most, cohesive album it gets a bit "boring" with all the songs sounding the same, obviusly they're not bad songs but this cohesivity transform in a kind of repetitivity in the ... read more
Even tough the complicated lirycism, almost every track it's a banger and there are maybe no skips on this project.
I slighlty like this a bit more because of some good songs and some more really deep-tought liricysm.
But the rest of the tracks it's still corny and the beats doesen't help them.
I think it's Dre production style for Eminem that I don't like.
I don't get it how you can rap about some corny shit for all your carreer, have 3 good albums, and people call your name in the top 5 goat rappers just for making words or sentences sound strangely good with eachother while talking about nothing.
I might went too harsh, but you get the point.
The hits, the introspective writing, the story telling and j. Cole energy... this is one of the greatest rap albums of all time.
Pretty good listening experience, the different musical soundscapes and the very angelic harmonies feel like you're listening to a fairy tale
