TOP 200 ALBUMS BY USER SCORE CRAWL (no soundtracks or non-English albums) #21 of 155

A very solid collection of songs from the Beatles. The first album I've heard from them. A lot of the songs almost feel disjointed from one another, almost giving a mixtape feel. However, there is so many engaging and interesting themes and topics on this album. The 93 minute run time plays out well and feels shorter than it actually is. Some of the tracks sound filler-ish, but even those songs are great ... read more

clust.r - ever chance

The album feels a lot like the cover—broken but still working. The very chopped and glitchy production is interesting and refreshing. What holds it back for me is some of the singing on some of the songs. Also, some of the production was a little too similar at certain points. The transition between songs and the feel the album gave off was nice though.

Favorite Song: us pretenders

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To
82

Holy moly this goes so hard. A pure 27 minutes of insane metal. Not a bad moment. Super technical and interesting riffs, super impressive drumming, and an insane vocal performance. Hard not to be a fan of this.

Favorite Song: Don't Reach For Me

Blueface - Free Blueface
8

This barely counts as music. A ton of royalty free beats and a half asleep Blueface. Name a better combo.

Favorite song: Fuck Blueface, free my ears😭

Cities Aviv - Bernadette Leak
73

Solid release. Not a lot to talk about here, I just wish it was longer. Production is absolutely immaculate.

Favorite Song: Style Council

IShowSpeed - Trip 2 Brazil

Is it crazy that this isn't terrible? Is it crazy to say I want to hear some more? The beats are insane (clinically), Seven is probably one of the more experimental tracks I've heard this year. Someone get this guy a writer and producer, I think he's cooking.

Favorite Song: Seven

DaBaby - GHETTO SUPERSTAR: (THE INTRO)
48

A lot better than his more recent endeavors, but still lacking the spark his earlier songs had. Hopefully this is a good look into the next project he is releasing and not just the best songs off of it.

Favorite Song: DONE TRYING (still mid)

Big Sean - Better Me Than You
66

Big Sean back again with a big plate of alright songs. While nothing comes off as bad, there are moments that felt really cheesy. Trying to borrow too much off of other people in the industry and coming out with nothing unique. Still a decent project, some of the beats are really good. Just too long, strip half of this off and it would've came off sounding more consistent.

Favorite Song: Together Forever

Destroy Lonely - LOVE LASTS FOREVER
49

I'm surprised I was able to stay up for a whole listen of this. This thing was boring. Most of Destroy Lonely's contributions make no impact at all, and he feels like a background to the rest of the music. The beats don't help carry either, while there is come cool ideas occasionally it builds up to nothing really. Why are one of the only features on your album someone who sounds exactly like you, please come with more variety next time.

TOP 200 ALBUMS BY USER SCORE CRAWL (no soundtracks or non-English albums) #20 of 155

Back to back LCD Soundsystem albums. Both were incredible but I think this one is just a bit better than This is Happening. Ambitious and varied production makes this project shine, with amazing vocals and heartfelt lyrics to top it off. Both are fantastic, but this album brings a certain level of sincerity with it that. Sometimes feeling very Bowie-esque. Lots of fun.

TOP 200 ALBUMS BY USER SCORE CRAWL (no soundtracks or non-English albums) #19 of 155

I've had Dance Yrself Clean added for awhile, but have never gotten around to listening to the rest of this album I really like the longer song lengths, it gives a lot of time for the progression of the songs to get to a well planned climax. Really the only gripe I have, is Somebody's Calling Me. While still a good song, it feels like a step down from everything else on the album. Lots of synth, and ... read more

6ix9ine - BLACKBALLED
13

It kind of sounds like him just rehashing the same flows from previous projects, with none of the catchy and aggressively fun energy those songs presented. Bro thinks he's blackballed but he just can't make good music anymore.

Favorite Song: i literally can't think of something to write here

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You

TOP 200 ALBUMS BY USER SCORE CRAWL (no soundtracks or non-English albums) #18 of 155

Talk about crushing. The emotions this album exutes are eerie and depressing. The singers vocals get loss in a lot of the mixes, and get to the point sometimes where it's unnerving the way he screams. Music that you just close your eyes and get lost in while it drones on. The longer songs here having amazing pacing and progression. Genuinely a hard but rewarding listen once you let it in.

This was ridiculous. Not funny at all. Sort of like watching somebody giving a terrible standup routine and giving them pity laughs. Please never do something like this again.

ALBUM REVIEW #100 LETS GO

This album holds a special place in my memory, a rough time in my life where this really connected to me in a special way. This is one of my most streamed albums, even though I haven't really listened to it since like 2019.

Coming back after all this time, the flaws are very evident. A lot of stuff is disjointed and scatterbrained, more often than not. Some of the songs have sort of stale production choices or awkward delivery from Hobo, but a lot of it still ... read more

Kanye West - Donda
75

There is so much good in this album, trim it down to about 10 or 15 tracks and it would've been another classic. The high points are extremely high and the low points extremely low. Did this really need to be 27 tracks long with "part 2" versions of songs on here? Just pick one to include (reminds me of the diamonds remix). I streamed this a whole lot but there is just so much that brings it down. Not to mention the deluxe version of this album (32 songs?!?!), too much was ... read more

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS
92

What a fantastic album. Coming in at a total of 23 minutes it's hard to have a low point, there really isn't a single bad moment on this. Everything feels right in its place, right where it should be. Some of the most vulnerable lyrics Kanye has spit and some of the best vocals from Kid Cudi, this collab couldn't have went any better.

Favorite Song: 4th Dimension

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
86

Incredibly solid album front to back. Kendrick does a great job of trying more individualized tracks that are more digestible on their own and it plays off. Everything from bangers to more introspective tracks. Such a personal album without making it sound as such.

Favorite Song: DUCKWORTH.

Kanye West - Yeezus
86

Kanye's first and only foray into industrial hip hop, and its jarring. This is definitley one of the most devisive albums he has put out, you either love it or hate it, and I love it.

Kanye has some of the best tracks of his career on this album, along with implementing a whole new sound after his previous album. I really wish I could see him cook up another project with this sound, but that's asking for too much these days. This album is fantastic.

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES

This thing feels like a mixtape in the best way possible. Gritty, in your face, and unpolished in the best way possible.

A collab with two of experimental raps giants, and they complement each other like Kanye in front of a mirror. This project literally couldn't have went better, except for maybe replacing a song or two with cuts off of the DLC pack, this thing is honestly ridiculous. 36 minutes of pure experimental goodness.
