Pink Floyd have always been one of my favorite bands and in my opinion the most essential musical group of the history of music. Interpol's 2018 release "Marauder" is one of their most polarizing efforts to this day. Many praised the dark and mature sound that is achieved on this project, but other's criticize how the band sounds tired and dragged out. After going through one of the toughest moments for the band with their previous two albums, Interpol knew how to come back even stronger after the disjointed feeling they would deliver on their self titled album. Lately I've been listening to Dream Theater a fair lot and the album that has caught most my attention is their 1994 release "Awake", which has many classic elements from this band that would be stereotypes to the Dream Theater's sound for the rest of their discography.
