King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic
90

Larks Tongue In Aspic is to me were King Crimson knew how to change and adapt their sound into a beyond modern one that would predate music as a whole and set the steps for albums like "Starless and Bible Black" or "Red" to form. So this one is beyond creative, and it's one of my favorites by the band clearly. There is an incredible feeling that comes when you listen to this one, it's pure prog madness.

C. Tangana - El Madrileño
70

El Madrileño is a project I've had several encounters with. To me it shows a good blend between catchy pop hooks with flamenco compositions. And this record already kinda feels like a classic. It's a really enjoyable ride from front to back, it may lose consistency in some tracks like: "Parteme La Cara" or "Cuando Olvidaré".
-
This is clearly his most creative album and his best as well. I think that there's a lot of chemistry between C. Tangana and the ... read more

King Crimson - Lizard
80

Lizard is one of the most divisive records by the band. Either you think it's one of their weakest and most lame projects or you think it's one of their most consistent and strongest projects out there. I'm on the second team and I've always been that way, this album is a masterpiece to me. It has an incredible fusion between jazz and prog which to me ends in the best result possible for what this album could be. But my love for this thing is kind of bias, since I've been obsessed with the ... read more

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus
80

Tarkus is an album I've grown to appreciate more and more as time passes. It represents a lot of the most complex prog suites that are seen in this project (especially on side A which is the title track divided into 7 parts). So, let's check this one out shall we.
-
In my opinion this ELP album is by far the best one in their mixed bag of a discography. I think that the first side of the LP shows one of my favorite prog epics of all time. And the problem with this one is that the side B cuts ... read more

Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
90

Sometimes Dream Theater is a band I often feel very distant to, and it's mainly because this band has like a very nerdy sound that makes me not feel very welcome to being engaged with their discography. But if there is an album that most of us will agree that it's their best one and their most enjoyable, to me it's without a doubt this one. I think that "Metropolis. Pt. 2" achieves a very well built consistency through out the record and an overall improvement in the music of the ... read more

King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon
80

I'm pretty Ill right now so if I'm being honest, this review won't be one of my best ones. In The Wake Of Poseidon is an album that gets heavily overshadowed by the greatness of It's previous release in KC's discography, yes, the legendary In The Court. But does this one have the same level of quality as it's predecessor?, let's find out!
-
So I think that this one has a really mystic feeling like most of their albums, it's very anthemic and atmospheric sound that carries out through the LP and ... read more

Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2
40

Ok so apparently Calvin Harris dropped a second part to his popular 2017 album "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1", and really this continuation is nothing special. It feels so generic and uninteresting to me. And for sure that this one lacks a lot of the great things the first part had. I actually dig some of the material on here but most of it cuts short in terms of quality and engagement.
-
Ok so I think that this record is harmless and not entirely that bad. It just feels really basic and ... read more

Pink Floyd - Ummagumma
30

Ummagumma was never an easy listen for me, it showcases a transition period in the band since the departure of the former lead singer "Syd Barrett". I personally think that this one cuts short in being an important project for the band to rely on, it really is weak and very, but very weird. So this one feels kind of disconnected to the rest of their catalogue. Note: Before starting this review, I'm gonna count the second disc, since the first one is a live performance of previously ... read more

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
50

Dire Straits was a band I would listen to a lot in the past and I would have on repeat tracks like "Walk Of Life" and the addictive "Money For Nothing". But coming back to this album after a long time were my music taste adapted into a more critical phase, this one disappointed me a lot. And in this review I'll explain why, so let's get into it.
-
I had a vision that made me think that this thing was consistent and a very cool and enjoyable record, but it really doesn't ... read more

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
90

In The Court Of The Crimson King is an album that changed music forever. It grabs a heavy sound filled with jazz progressions and weird tempo's. The definition of prog is defined in this LP and this LP only, if you want to get into the genre, I would recommend this album first.
-
Before getting into this. Y'all I'm a die hard King Crimson fan, but this album isn't perfect, it still has a certain track I ain't a big fan of and that might be controversial among some of you, and that track is ... read more

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
70

"Tubular Bells" is a prog cult classic. It's one of the most iconic albums in the genre and I've wanted to talk about for a long while. And really I thought this one to be underwhelming, nothing really surprised me as I thought it would since there's a lot of prog fans that state this one to be one of the best works in the genre, and I'll have to disagree, I think that this one is plainly repetitive and parts go for way too long, but let's save it for the rest of the review.

Genesis - ...Calling All Stations...
30

Why?, just why did Genesis (or what remained of it) make this. I ask that question to myself many times, and yet I can't comprehend why. I don't think it's as awful as people say, but is it lame and forgettable?, absolutely. On here we see the inclusion of vocalist Ray Wilson and departure of Phil Collins from the band.
-
I think that the real problem with this LP is the plain and generic songwriting on here. I think that the lyricism is horrible and uninspiring and it makes for a really cringe ... read more

Duster - Together
80

Together is an album I never really thought would be this good. On here we see a lot of remarkable pieces that make for not their most versatile or inventive project, but for a great LP that to me is one of the highlights of the year. The sound of the project as well like other Duster one's is a nostalgic resemblance of a lo-fi sound.
-
I think that many of their strongest material is seen on this album. Songs like: New Directions, Retrogade, Time Glitch, Sleepyhead & Drifter are some of ... read more

Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
100

Lately "Turn On The Bright Lights" and Interpol as a whole has been music I've had on repeat. They have a sound I can't explain what makes me feel, it's haunting and healing at the same time, and this album is to me their best one, and my favorite discovery of the past months. This one is a classic and to me probably the second best album of the 21st century.

Led Zeppelin - Presence
70

"Presence" always was an interesting album to me. When I was a little younger I would always pass through the record stores and just stop to watch this cover, it haunts me, but still gives me curiosity to listen to it, really weird picture that represents this album perfectly. For many people this one is among their most weak releases, and that might be partially true, but this one still has an impressive amount of quality.

The album opens up with an incredible tune and my favorite ... read more

Genesis - We Can't Dance
60

So we're getting close to the end of this great discography, and now I have to talk about "We Can't Dance", mostly known as a sellout record and cash grab, but I think that it's a little more than that, yes it has some pretty lame songs like: I Can't Dance, but it still has some great and creative moments that get underappreciated like: Driving The Last Spike or Fading Lights.

This one was the last one with globally famous lead singer Phil Collins, that by that time was already a ... read more

Playboi Carti - Whole Lotta Red
40

Ok, so Whole Lotta Red is an album I've been scared to talk about, it has influenced the recent wave of trap, rap, hip hop, etc. artists that adapt this new saturated sound into the mainstream audience. This record is divisive and that's something everyone knows, and I think that it's not really bad neither is it good. It stands in the middle point for me, and I'll try to explain why.
-
So I think that Carti isn't really credited for creating a new freaking sound on here man, he basically ... read more

Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
70

"Sometimes I Might Be Introvert" is a phenomenal piece of art. She treats a lot of political and social topics through out shocking lyricism and really well put out rapping. So I know you all have already heard a lot of praise for this one, but on here ima try go and dive into it even more.

Genesis - Genesis
60

The self titled Genesis release is one that get's unfairly overhated. While this one counts with a lot of mainstream tracks that made this band feel like they're selling out, like: That's All, Illegal Alien or Taking It All Too Hard. But the thing no one seems to acknowledge is that some of these songs are actually quality tunes that have aged pretty well overtime.
-
I've gave this record a good spin of countless listens, and I've finally concluded that while this one has some flaws and ... read more

Genesis - Duke
80

Duke feels weird... It has like "Duke" suite that consists of a fair amount of songs like: Behind The Lines, Duchess, Turn It On Again, Duke's Travels & Duke's end. That suite works, but the problem is that it's barely half of what this LP is. So they had to refill the album with another bonus tracks that were bassically "mainstream" material.
-
I like a fair lot of what is displayed on here, and I find to be really enjoyable ride. Plus this album doesn't yet go into the ... read more
