Roger Waters - Amused to Death
60

Amused To Death is the grooviest project by ex-Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters. This album takes on many concepts as religion, death and for the surprise of no one "Society✨".
-
This album is a pretty ok one tbh, not crazy about it at all. It feels too long for 14 tracks, and some parts drag. Like the track extensions into part 2 and part 3 of some songs do kill me sometimes.
-
Some parts on here are really shallow and repetitive, also really cheesy and corny for this man (for ... read more

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
80

Deloused In The Comatorium is a story about a man that decides to take a mix of morphine and rat poison to enter into a coma and hallucinate a vivid world that he likes more than the real one he lives in. When he wakes up he decides to take his life because life was better in the coma.
-
All previous concepts are very well embodied into a progressive rock opera that was the outstanding hit debut for this US band from Texas.
-
This is a very loud and fast psychedelic release, which I have had ... read more

Archurahl - Albtraum
40

Archurahl is a One man Turkish Black Metal band that consists of one member playing every single instrument. Today i will review his EP "Albtraum" i gave this album many listens for it to completely grow on me and it has, i really think this is a very good project and a solid band, even if i'm not the biggest fan of Black metal i still acknowledge the hard work and passion behind every single scream and banter. This album is a very loud one, and I still like it for it. The ... read more

Talk Talk - It's My Life
50

It's My Life always pop's up when you talk about 80's albums, thanks to the title track and some other not so popular tracks that helped impulse this LP into the spotlight.
-
Like first of all for me the 80's was the worst era for music, or the least best. But I really dislike that heavy synth sound with a electronic drums, something about it feels so plastic.
-
This album is still a remarkable album for the time, but it did not age well at all, not like Thriller for example which stood the ... read more

mgk - Hotel Diablo
20

Hotel Diablo was MGK's last rap album before switching to making lame pop punk. This album would of had been the highest point in his career if it weren't for him getting dissed by Eminem.
-
So he got completely shoved out of rap in a fair way, but let's face it, he's a coward. Like this album ain't even that bad (for his standards), he got dissed after looking for attention for about 6 years, and then you bail on your albums and change your music genre to make garbage albums.
-
This album does ... read more

Blackfield - For the Music
30

In late 2020 the prog duo Blackfield delivered "For The Music", a flawed and messy project that barely scratches the surface to be an LP.
-
This album feels unfinished and like if there wasn't any creativity behind it, and is probably the weakest album for both Wilson and Geffen. So the inspiration on here lacks a fair lot.
-
While there is a lot of problems on this album, there is still quality around some aspects, like for example the straight up technical drumming on the opener, ... read more

Drake - Honestly, Nevermind
20

Drake released his surprise album "Honestly Nevermind", is it a good recover from CLB, no, no it isn't. He released this album on June 17th at midnight, not even a year after his previous project.
-
On this LP he attempts new sounds and experimentations. He shares similarities with The Weeknd on here, but this version is way inferior. Honestly this release isn't really atrocious, but it's really lame. It shares the worst Drake album with CLB and many of his latest releases which have ... read more

Nas - Illmatic
80

The essential LP "illmatic" by the famous New York rapper Nas is a very well built LP, that has been a reference and inspiration to many other rap artists out there.
-
This album has a lot of technicality through the rapping around the album and it's songs. It has an overall great consistency that plays out as good as intended.
-
I have many good thoughts on this LP, he is an exciting artist on this record, and very intriguing to listen to. I'm also a big fan of the sampling on ... read more

Logic - Vinyl Days
70

Logic just released today his latest release, "Vinyl Days" is a risky rap album by the controversial white boy. He proved a lot of ground with the singles, surprising a lot of the music media since his latest albums were pretty bad.

To me the singles were a perfect hook for me to get into the album, I found them to be exciting and different for Logic, so that grabbed me instantly.

I also thought this album would be boring when the tracklist was revealed on insta, counting with 30 ... read more

Squarepusher - Go Plastic
60

Squarepusher is one of my favorite electronic artists out there. The fact that he also plays some instruments in the complex arrangements makes it even better. The multi instrumentalists and bass player has gained a lot of fans after a long number of successful like the one I'm reviewing right now: Go Plastic is his most well known release and almost a cult classic.

This album consists of 10 tracks that make this LP a consistent and enjoyable release for this artist, I feel that this is his ... read more

Prophets of Rage - Prophets of Rage
40

Prophets Of Rage is a rap rock supergroup that consists of instrumental members from Rage Against The Machine, Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real from Cypress Hill. They initially released singles in 2016, songs like The Party's Over and Prophets of Rage would stream on that year, but they wouldn't be included in this LP.

I think that this creation is pretty weird to be honest. It's like if you ask an AI computer to create a band with these members and predict their catalog, this ... read more

Weezer - Pacific Daydream
30

I know you've probably heard about this album, and If you have, you may have heard a lot of horrible things about it. With this release Weezer cut back to being generic and boring again, after a record streak of 2 consecutive albums that had regained the level of Weezer's lost quality.

This is my third listen of this album, and for a long while I wanted to review it, it's far from being Weezer's worst release for me, there is way worse one's like Raditude or Make Believe, that for me are ... read more

Gavin Harrison & Antoine Fafard - Chemical Reactions
60

In 2020 one of my all time favorite drummers Gavin Harrison released a jazz / prog album along side composer Antoine Fafard. For me this was a very good release for Gavin to comeback as a solo drummer.

This album has a lot of technicality in the drumming and allows Gavin to master way more his tempo and skill around the kit. Antoine is the main melodic compositor for the duo established on here, and the overall musicianship generated on here is great, there is an awesome connection. This album ... read more

Wet Leg - Wet Leg
60

Plenty of people are talking about this new indie rock band from the United Kingdom. They debuted this year with their full length studio album "Wet Leg". The self titled is a release that has been very critically acclaimed. Why don't we check out the album?, let's jump in to the review.

The album has a pretty nerdy feeling to it, like kinda, it's also very similar to a band like Yard Act, which I previously covered on this page. My initial thoughts: This album is ok, I'm not the ... read more

Rush - Clockwork Angels
80

The final dance by the legendary Canadian trio "Rush". Clockwork Angels turns 10 today. Released in 2012, their 19th studio album put an end to their musical career. It has one of the most heaviest and most nostalgic music put out by Rush.

I was gifted this cd on my 11th birthday after countless listens over tracks like "A Passage To Bangkok" or "Fly By Night". This one has many listens recorded in my head. I would listen to it countless times. At my house, on the ... read more

billy woods - Aethiopes
50

Billy Woods is one of the most underrated hip hop artists right now. He concentrates his music into abstract rap and hip hop. Aethiopes is the latest release by this man, a very well recieved LP by critics, do I think the same?, let's see.

I found out about him thanks to Anthony Fantano, he recently regarded this album to be one of the best albums of the year (so far).

My first insight on this album is that it's a very well put out one. There is certainly a lot of technicality in his ... read more

Vory - Lost Souls
20

Vory released his latest album "Lost Souls" which has a bunch of features that could of saved the grace of this album, but did it? It features artists like Kanye West, NAV, Fresco Trey, etc.

I first checked out the singles which were honestly a bad first expectation for the record, Daylight has a good beat, but both bad performances by ye and Vory, Do Not Disturb was also a let down, tho the performances weren't as lame, the guitar sample is way to cheesy and ridiculous.

My initial ... read more

The Pineapple Thief - Versions Of The Truth
60

Versions of the Truth is a perfect mix for this band. Their latest studio LP expands into the bands contrast between prog rock and electronic synths that portray this band in a quite unique way. This tracklist is heavily consistent between the runtime of the album, it has no epics which is a little shame, but the album still plays out to be a great one with bangers like: Break It All, Versions Of The Truth, Our Mire, etc. At the end of the day, this could be their most consistent and well put ... read more

Jethro Tull - The Zealot Gene
30

Jethro Tull's comeback "The Zealot Gene" is such a weird fit for the band. This album is a creative mess, it experiments a lot the bands originality and it's sound, but it fails at being consistent and engaging to the listener. It has a lazy feeling and bad vocal performance by Ian Anderson. The highlight of the album may be the guitar, and the certain solo's and tuning in tracks like Mine Is The Mountain or the opener Mrs Tibbets. This album provides nothing new to the band except ... read more

Mitski - Laurel Hell
70

If were gonna talk about modern female artists, mitski would be an artist I would instantly think about, she has an awesome approach to music in a creative and retro way that has many similarities to 80's pop. Her style is unique and this album dives deep in her own sound in modern music. There is many tracks on here that has practically the same song structures as other iconic bands, like the opener Valentine, Texas which reminds me a lot of The Cure, Stay Soft has a vocal performance that ... read more
