Edit: So I still really like this album and I played it quite a lot in the next couple of weeks following its release. But since then I haven't revisited these songs all too often. Still a great last album from Logic.
I am truly truly at a loss for words. I'll start by saying Logic will be missed. While I haven't always been his biggest fan, even I will miss his presence in the ... read more
FAV TRACK: Lion King On Ice
This was a really solid two songs from the one and only J. Cole. I will preface this by saying I did grow up listening to J. Cole as it was something that my parents and older sister would play quite often. Crooked Smile, Power Trip, and Work Out were always on around the house and listening to these two tracks while aren't as memorable as the aforementioned tracks, brought me back to those days of listening to Cole as a kid. "The Climb Off" has a smooth, ... read more
I love all the instrumentation on this. All of it. Travis had an amazing verse and Kanye had an amazing verse and the chorus is catchy. Kanye and Travis's lyrics are more relevant than ever. What's not to like? This song has been on repeat all day.
FAV TRACKS: BULLETPROOF, TOOTHFAIRY
LEAST FAV: pretty much everything else
When it comes to IDK, I normally tend to like his music although some of his music can be a big miss for me. Sadly this project is one of them as this project contains some of his most mediocre lyrical content, production, and hooks. It's not necessarily bad by any means but I don't see anything here to return to other than BULLETPROOF and TOOTHFAIRY which are easily the hardest tracks on here with features from Denzel ... read more

LEAST FAV: All My Life
Continuing on my streak of Run The Jewels reviews today I am reviewing Run The Jewels 2. Better than what came before it, Killer Mike and El-P build upon their great production, great flows, and great lyricism and expand upon it with this release. Each track has its own purpose and story to tell and the album overall is pretty wellcrafted. In my opinion this album does fall short a little bit ... read more
FAV TRACKS: Run The Jewels, DDFH, Sea Legs, Job Well Done, Banana Clipper
LEAST FAV: No Come Down
I'm just starting to get into Run the Jewels so I thought I'd check out their first project to see if it was any good. Saying it's good is quite the understatement as the production is still great as ever next to their latest release RTJ 4 even 7 years later. The lyrics are quite good on this thing as well although I do feel they do start decline in tracks like No Come Down and Get It compared to ... read more
FAV TRACKS: JU$T, a few words for the firing squad (radiation, holy calama****, yankee and the brake (ep. 4), walking in the snow, the ground below, pulling the pin

I have no words. To start this is the first RTJ album I have ever listened to and I am now completely embarrassed that I did not listen to them before. This has the best production I think I have heard all year. El-P did a beautiful job on the beats on this one. The lyrics are more relevant than ever and I think in ... read more

LEAST FAV: Top Down
Wow this is such a fun album from the one and only Lil Yachty. This is easily one of the best trap albums of the year and in terms of the fun level it can be compared to Young Thug's previous release, So Much Fun. On this thing we get great production, great features, and some catchy choruses and even some clever bars from Yachty. There is no denying that ... read more

I would consider myself a decent fan of Kota the Friend but I was a little disappointed by this album. Starting with the positives, this album has some of Kota's most complete sounding songs to date. This thing also contains some of his best flows and lyrics in his discography. Not to mention the features on this thing are also quite decent with features from Bas, Joey Bada$$, tobi lou, and KYLE. This album also contains ... read more
FAV TRACK: FFS FREESTYLE.
LEAST FAVE: ESCAPE.
I used to really like SCARLXRD's music when he started blowing up, it had this rawness and energy to it that I had never really heard before. It had been a while since I had actually listened to a SCARLXRD project so I thought I'd check these 3 tracks out. So the only track on here that I enjoyed was the final track "FFS FREESTYLE." It had some classic SCARLXRD energy but also showed off his decent rapping ability that he has showed on ... read more

LEAST FAV: Butterfly Paralyzed
This is my first listen of any artist, song or album within the cloud rap genre and I am really impressed with this release from Sweden rapper Yung Lean. First off the ambience on this project is really good and provides a great atmosphere. But he is also able to mesh these ambient melodies with some hard trap beats as seen on "Iceheart" and "Violence". As this is my first cloud rap album, ... read more

I don't even know where to start with this absolutely great album from British singer Charli XCX. I think this is easily Charli's cleanest and most banger filled album to date. Every track on here has its own place and with 11 tracks it was short, sweet, and straight to the point. This is the best bubblegum bass music I think I have ever heard. The beats across this thing are so powerful like ... read more
FAV TRACKS: Wishing For A Hero, Chinatown, DND, Go Stupid
LEAST FAV: Martin & Gina
Personally, I do prefer Die A Legend to this album. BUT. This new album contains some of Polo G's most emotional and powerful lyrics to date. On this album we see Polo G reflect on his life's stories and experiences and life since fame. He covers these topics extremely well with some clever bars on tracks such as No Matter What. This album also has some decent production although I appreciate the rawness of ... read more

This is a somewhat decent album from Canadian rapper and producer Nav. I enjoyed Nav when he dropped his first project the self titled, Nav. I thought he had an interesting sound, while it wasn't all that original, he brought his own thing to the table. After a while though, his music started to become monotonous and just overall boring. I wasn't really looking forward to listening to this album but I kind ... read more

Ok but I actually really enjoyed this new EP from New York rapper Lil Tjay. For me I feel that Lil Tjay has showed some big potential on tracks like F.N. and even his breakout hit Pop Out with Polo G. So here comes with this new EP and there are a lot of positive things for me to say about it. The first track "Ice Cold" is an okay track for me personally but I do think it is a good introduction into ... read more

Well this was something. Let's start off with the good: Chris Brown has some pretty nice hooks and a consistent enough vocal performance and all these tracks. Young Thug also does a pretty good job on all his performances as well. The production on this thing is pretty good as well with some hard 808s and some nice guitars. As for everything else on the album: It's pretty cringy. Most of ... read more

I really like Earl Sweatshirt's latest albums even Feet of Clay. I think Some Rap Songs and I DON'T LIKE ****, I DON'T GO OUTSIDE are amazing hip hop records. So I thought today while I was getting work done to listen to Earl's debut album Doris. Well, it's not a bad album but there is just not much interesting about it. Earl has a great voice for hip hop but he doesn't utilize it well in this album and sticks to some ... read more
Not bad, I don't think Beyonce does bad at all here, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the song to begin with. The energy from both Beyonce and Megan on this track is contagious though.
