I was so intrigued by the album cover that I decided to take a listen completely blind...
Sad Pony Guerrilla Girl is a very beautiful song, its very experimental which Im not quite used to. Near the 2 minute mark it becomes an insanely crazy song, and was actually pretty like I dont PTSD inducing or something, I felt wrong. And it goes right back into the vocalist singing, which I do really like. I think they have a really good voice on this song. For the first 2 minutes of Apistat Commander I ... read more
I will always be extremely upset at the prospect of NewJeans never coming back.
Opening with the self titled track "New Jeans" a super insanely catchy pop track that they somehow can make their own name into an extremely catchy song. Also the beat is somehow simple and not at all, it becomes this New Jersey club type beat at one point, but also conforms to K-pop standards at the same time. Thats why NewJeans will always be extraordinary to me because they could make a good song out ... read more
Not only is it one of my favorite albums of all time, it is also one of my most streamed albums of all time.
Highway 61 Revisited came at a very formative time in my life, I had discovered Bob Dylan randomly listening to music and heard "It Aint Me Babe" and thought that It was such an amazing piece of music. So I bought a mono pressing of Another Side of Bob Dylan and played the whole record, and then thats when I dived into my favorite artist of all time.
Like a Rolling Stone is ... read more
Im starting to fall in love with Steely Dan, they are so versatile.
I didnt know Kid Charlemagne when I started this record, but I slowly realized yeah I know Kid Charlamagne, as everyone who is reading this probably knows that Kanye sampled that song for Champion, and I instantly was shocked when I heard that. Just as shocked when I heard Roundabout by Yes and it was the ending theme for JoJo's. These keep coming at me, you never realize how much popular music is sampled and used until ... read more
George Harrison is old and still striking like he's in his mid to late 20's.
Cloud Nine is an incredibly amazing, sexy start to this album. Like if I was one for sex music I fear Im putting on Cloud Nine by George Harrison im gonna have to be honest with you. Something about it, the slide, the vocals, how pronounced George is on it. Its just an amazing song I go back to all the time. That's What It Takes is in a weird place for me, where I like it, but it kind of suffers from a ... read more
The Cars incapsulates the 80's sound to me, and it wasnt even released in the 80's
This is a record thats very influential to my mom, and I finally had the chance to pick it up in a record shop for about 7 bucks, so I bought it and it very much has that sound of that era. Good Times Roll is in a weird spot for me cause I do like the song but I dont know how much id listen to it, Ill add it to the playlist to see how it ages for me. My Best Friend's Girl is actually the most cuck ... read more
I should've listened to Steely Dan sooner, this album is so incredibly catchy, and easy to listen to.
Do It Again is an amazing opener to this album, it has a super catchy verse and just a really enjoyable song with a fire solo, it has everything I could want in the first song. First song is a banger. Dirty Work just keeps up how solid the first two tracks are, it has another super really catchy chorus, and a really good build up into it, and another great solo. I mean the songs follow a ... read more
I cant get enough of Yes, they are just so good.
Roundabout is an insane opener?!??!!? Obviously ive heard Roundabout, before I got big into music and buying records my other degenerate hobby was collecting manga, so JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was always on my radar, and I mean even during the vine era, you'd hear Roundabout in like the "To Be Continued" memes. So its just a super iconic song and to hear it randomly when im getting into Yes is so funny to me, it honestly ... read more
The sophomore album of Cameron Marschall, and I can see the evolution.
I might need to preface the start of this review with; this really isn't my type of music, this is really the only R&B I listen to in my free time, I like supporting Cam, he's been my friend for longer than a decade at this point, and I can tell he has genuine talent and drive for the music he makes.
The intro A.B.T was very reminiscent of Tyler The Creator with the two contrasting voices that are Cam, and ... read more
I went into this album completely blind, I found this record in a bargain bin...
The E Street Shuffle fully shocked me, it has so much personality and I dont even know what I was supposed to expect, it is really such a good song. And I love Bruce Springsteen's voice?! I heard he gets shit for his voice but I really like his voice here, it isnt perfect and thats what makes it so good, all of the instruments make this song so good, its just arranged so well, this is a really good way to ... read more
I have no words to start this review, Yes is in their own class, just insane arangments in everyway.
Yours Is No Disgrace, goes through so many different instruments and just builds this incredible world, that just so amazing. There really is no other way other to describe it than amazing, I love the vocals too, theirs really no faults in this band its truly just amazing, technically impressive music. It also becomes a really beautiful slow song near the end that again keeps building on ... read more
Theirs so many ideas I think can be good but they just dont land for me
Theirs just simply nothing that stands out to me as exceptional on this record. And When I Die, I really didnt like, I thought the concept of the song was grim and not enjoyable at all. Maybe because its a little too morbid but something about the entire song just rubbed me the wrong way. I swear Ive heard "Variations on a Theme by Erik Satie" before specifically the 1st movement, I dont know where but ive 100% ... read more
George Harrison solidifies his top spot as the best Beatle time and time again.
Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth) is at face value a very simple song but god Harrison just knows how to put so much soul and character into his music so flawlessly. It’s so catchy, the instrumentation is so perfect it’s just perfect. Which is the only way I can describe George Harrison’s solo work, just perfect. A really good opening track that even starts to get a little loose at the end ... read more
I somehow have lived my entire life without listening to this album, and I was pretty surprised!
First off I wasnt expecting a woman to be the lead vocalist, its something I dont often see especially for the 70's, and its a very nice switch up from what is the 70's being dominated by male front leads. Dreams is a song ive heard before, I havent heard a ton but I most definitely have heard the beginning of the song and its a really enjoyable song I can 100% seeing this being a fire ... read more
Going into this album completely blind mightve been the best decision ever.
I started Close to the Edge that beginning is absolutely insane, that was like Math Rock/Emo almost in some parts and it just was so unbelievably cool and good? And then when the vocals kick in the vibe, switches up into this almost beachy/summery vibe. Only Pink Floyd has ever wrapped me into a song that quick, and this song uses its track time really well, its very psychedelic, and I mean im high right now and im ... read more
Never really dove into the Country Rock genre, never really dove into Neil Young as a whole. But this was a really good record!
Out on the Weekend is a great start to this album, I didnt really know what to expect coming into this album. Ive heard Old Man before but thats all Ive heard before. Out on the Weekend was super folky, I like how ambient the background is, and it isnt just acoustic guitar. A Man Needs a Maid was straight bullshit I cannot lie to you, the lyrics lowkey through me off ... read more
Andy Warhol went from insinuating with a Banana and a Pink Banana underneath to a whole ass boner and unzippable pants?!?!
Brown Sugar is a great start to this album, I really like the horns and its something I dont see a lot with the Blues Rock ive listened to, which I mean ive only really listened to Led Zeppelin and they rarely if never used any horns. So Its really refreshing hearing a different soundscape especially during the craze of all these different bands kind of using the same type ... read more
A legendary one of a kind show that can never be replicated again.
The introduction is very wholesome and Ravi Shankar's; Bangla Dhun, is a very insane performance especially around the end where the sitar and all the Indian instruments tempo starts getting super fast, that was spectacular. I havent heard any sitar outside of Ravi Shankar & George Harrison on Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, and Rubber Soul. So seeing a full spectacle of what the Sitar and Indian classical music can do is ... read more
Led Zeppelins longest album and also most cohesive album.
Firstly I want to talk about the absolute gem of a song "In My Time of Dying" Im a self proclaimed Dylanologist while I dont have much Dylan rated on this before I got AOTY I listened to all of his albums, bought all of his albums and saw him live and hearing Led Zeppelin do a cover of a Dylan song off his DEBUT?! I know Led Zeppelin is heavily inspired by the blues and likely the delta blues, which I know it is an original ... read more
Led Zeppelins debut and god is it a really strong debut album.
This album is extremely hard like it has some of their most deep riffs that genuinely feel like the soul is being taken from you. Dazed and Confused has always been my favorite song off of this and every song on this is really just a compliment to it, the first 4 tracks are amazing and if it kept up that run it easily couldve been in contention for my favorite Zep album. Honestly I dont not like any songs on this I just prefer some ... read more
