Really good debut album from Leith. I heard their EP last year and thought it was OK (I may revisit it!) but this album has so much great, honest lyricism. 'We'll Never Have Sex" is heartbreaking and beautiful, "(You) On My Arm" is so fun and sweet. Those are my two favs:) I also listen to the deluxe version because the bonus track is so great and it should have been on the album!
Pavement know how to do a goddamn deluxe edition
Those first 6 songs are awesome, and would have been a great EP. The Don't Wake Me Up shit is fun and interesting sometimes but Drums and Bass is just awful. It was cool to hear The Glow Pt.2 in depth because the songs are so amazing, but here I just don't care.
While this album could be cool, I feel like it just goes on for much too long. It seems much of Phil's early work is dependent on just being experimental for fun, which is cool, but not amazing to always listen to. Most likely Phil never assumed people 20 years later would listen to a lot of this stuff.
