A terrible vaporwave album that doesn’t know what it wants to be. The distant sounds in the first track that barely compose a melody are straight up boring, you heard occasional steps and people chattering, but this mallsoft vibe was done much better on Palm Mall’s first track. The second track is equally one-dimensional and forgettable, and both of these tracks ultimately don’t lead anywhere.
Avoid this.
Edgy angry teenage rap. The beat that sounds like ‘One Beer’ is simply horrible.
It’s very late at night. Around midnight. You look out of your window and it’s pitch black. The only light you can see is coming from the lampposts. They shine their light on the falling raindrops and you’re surrounded by this constant sound of rain pouring. You’re alone in your room, and nobody else is around. Only you, your sofa and the television. You pick up the tv remote and find yourself eased into the world of commercial television with the track ‘Now ... read more
Still haven’t changed my mind on this album. It’s not bad, per se, but it simply takes the industrial pop fusion that they executed so well on The Money Store and turns up the volume to make the music louder and more abrasive. And this concept has a few good outputs, I really like the tracks ‘Giving Bad People Good Ideas’, ‘Hot Head’, ‘Spikes’, ‘Eh’ and ‘80808’. Outside of these, though, I really find it hard to like any ... read more
I won’t go on and on about the growth that 21 shows on this album, it’s stuff that everybody knows at this point, but I do have a hot take on ‘Out For The Night’. It’s easily the best track on this album. The simple guitar that composes the instrumental and the high intensity beat pairs with Savage’s catchy chorus and flows to create a perfect song. It’s simply one of those tracks that you can have on repeat again and again and not get tired.
Upon my first listen, I did mess with this album, and I did think that what Drake was doing sounded quite unique, but the track quality after the track ‘Texts Go Green’ goes slowly and steadily downhill until it reaches a positive peak on the track ‘Jimmy Cooks’ at the very end of the album. Other than the final song, other standouts include ‘Massive’ and ‘Calling My Name’. On this album, Drake embarks on a totally new sound, that being a more ... read more
I feel torn on this record. It does have its undisputed highs, and when they come around they’re extremely good, but Astroworld also presents some very low moments. I generally find it to be a very mixed bag in term of song quality.
Far better than any other Travis Scott album, Rodeo is the equivalent of entering a theme park and going on ride after ride without any semblance of a break, because that’s just what the songs on this album are, experiences. I won’t even stop to talk about any individual track, because everyone who’s listened to this already would know what I’m talking about and anyone who hasn’t deserves not to be spoiled the insane journey through trap music and ride to fame that ... read more
I feel like this is Travis’ experimental album. Where other people see boring or half-baked track I see legitimately interesting song ideas, just delivered in a more melodic tone.
‘The Ends’ and ‘Way Back’ are incredibly dark tracks that set the tone for the album, if the album cover didn’t do that for you already. Also, the Andre 3000 feature on the intro is amazing.
Then we get ‘Coordinate’, one of the weaker tracks on the album, and it really ... read more
Edit - “Bangers on bangers” may be a little too pretentious, but I truly believe that the highest highs on here are worth it, even if there are occasional lows.
Bangers on bangers. From the jumpstart that is ‘Digital Dash’, which is unapologetic and hard hitting, to Future’s vocals on ‘Live From The Gutter’, another great banger, to the semi-ballad that is ‘Diamonds Dancing’, with an entrancing and almost psychedelic outro to the track. And ... read more
Very skeptical upon my first 10 minutes listening, but I was surprised to like it as much as I did as soon as the album ended. ‘Palm Mall’, the 20-minute opening track, really makes you feel like you’re simply sitting at a mall and watching everyone go about their day. This feeling of nothingness, the feeling of being merely another blade of grass in the middle of a field, can be very comforting. This being said, I do have some gripes with this…

Incredible jazz rap album, filled to the brim with soul samples in its instrumentals and unapologetically sentimental in its core. I really like the approach KRIT has on this album, it being the fact that the first disc is extremely hard hitting (just look at songs like “Big Bank”) and the second disc is more emotional, with themes that resemble faith and religion. One bar after another, on each track, KRIT manages to push through with boastful or introspective attitude, depending ... read more

It’s nowhere as cinematic as a World War Olympics was, and I think that the instrumentals really lack on this album. There are some jazz inspired segments that sound goofy, and the most ambitious death’s dynamic shroud gets on this record is merely a fraction of what they do on future projects. I don’t know how to feel about this album, I’ll give it a very low rating because I think it just doesn’t live up whatsoever to ... read more
Unique, and not in the good way. 15 minutes of half-baked song ideas that only work because every track is 1 minute long. I’m not exaggerating when I say that that these were probably some of the longest 15 minutes of my life. I feel like I’ve had more fun unironically watching paint dry for a quarter of an hour than listening to this album.
Edit // 50 -> 22 Still mad.
I’m lowkey mad at this album. Like, fuck. I was completely enamoured with the concept, empty convenience stores and supermarkets have always had a very special place in my heart, but this album fails to do it any justice whatsoever. The themes of the aisles are so incoherent, and so are the musical landscapes. The execution is good when it comes to the first songs, but it declines further and further as the record goes on. What I’m trying to say here ... read more
I honestly don’t really care much about this project. It’s repetitive and way too long, making the constant redundancy of the samples and melodies in use almost unbearable. It has a promising kick-off, but the tracks get lazier and lazier and more annoying the more you dive into the record. The cover art also sucks, like, if anyone knows what’s going on there, please tell me.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz… I wanna say something about this but I can’t… Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz… Never listening to this guy again unless I want a good night of sleep…
Loud is not the right adjective to describe this album, because it actually just sounds like terrorism but in audio format. The second half of this album was so unbearable that I listened to ‘I Break Mirrors With My Face In The United States’ and ‘Inanimate Sensation’ and immediately had a migraine and couldn’t think straight for the rest of the day. The first have is (a little) less noisy and I’m still impressed at the fact that Death Grips got Björk to ... read more
