I'm admittedly not very familiar with this genre yet so idk how this album stands in comparison to anything else, but the first track alone is absolutely bone crushing and I love the heavy melodies throughout
Quite honestly pretty boring but it's the only Lana album I still listen to and Venice Bitch still stands as her best song/greatest genuine musical accomplishment so
I couldn't even name probably half the tracklist and Lana was my most streamed artist on spotify in 2017 so like. Idk the vibes were cute but it didn't do much at all! A blip in her discography at this point
This album is still probably my trash but will I ever listen to it in full again? No. Is it very boring? Yes. But for some reason it was my favorite lana album up until nfr and I still don't really understand some of the hate toward it tbh, it's lana at her absolute most lana. For better and for worse at the same time. For the same reasons simultaneously
Fucked My Way Up To the Top singlehandedly did more for American society than most US presidents ever could and I say that as someone who is deeply embarrassed of both my own lana del rey phase and other lana fans
I was mortal enemies with the Blue Velvet cover when I was 14 and that was super fucking valid of me. Ride is a classic
Like most loser depressed teenage girls on tumblr I did experience a (very extended) lana del rey phase, and this is still the album/group of songs/aesthetic/whatever I think of when I think of lana. I haven't listened to it in ages but in retrospect the production is pretty awful (but in like a fun camp way though?) and it's far from her best songwriting or most interesting vocal performances. National Anthem is still a fucking banger though
I was a big fan of k.flay in high school and then decided I was too cool for goofy cringe music but I'm back to fully embracing it. I didn't listen to her last album solutions but this one is definitely just goofy fun, the production is nothing special and neither are any of the songs or melodies or really anything here, but it just feels nice to listen to yknow. I'm having a good time
Now that I'm free from my ex who took my love for glass animals and extracted only the worst parts of the band and subsequently loved this album, I can finally admit I fucking hate this album except for the title track and Space Ghost
I'm an "I liked glass animals before they were cool" asshole. I became a fan not long after this album dropped and although I don't come back to it much at all anymore (except for Agnes <3) it's very nostalgic and still super fun
