Faye Webster - Underdressed at the Symphony

i feel like this is an unpopular opinion but this was just so boring, like sure her voice is pretty but is there any substance here?

Ayesha Erotica - We Still Fuck

if you wanna know the basics of internet culture class one would be about ayesha erotica

Good Kid - Good Kid 4

this might be the most boring music i have ever listened to in my whole life. there is nothing here. this just sounds so...nothing. nothing here interests me. i can't point out a good thing and i don't even care to know what truly makes it bad. laufey did not write from the start for this shit

Drake - 100 GIGS

"i love all my friends" i didn't know drake's friends were children!!!

Zach Bryan - The Great American Bar Scene
80

modern country music's crown jewel zach bryan comes back with some of the most heartfelt, genuine, and homely music this year (unlike other male country singers nowadays).

im gonna use this as an opportunity to talk about the state of modern country music. it seems to me that many have completely forgotten or worse disregarded why country music was made in the first place. it came from real stories and honest experiences to find community.

nowadays, country music is used as a vehicle ... read more

Los Campesinos! - All Hell

his voice makes me suicidal

Benson Boone - Beautiful Things
15

his vocal chords are a single mom who works 2 jobs, who loves her kids and never stops, a gentle hand and a heart of a fighter. someone check on her i think she's ripped

Jack White - No Name
90

this is the first time i have ever had 2 10/10s in one year, i am here for it ngl. (edit- not a 10/10 anymore but so close :()

jack white comes back with a simple album, but with so much energy that it's hard to ignore. each song is jam-packed with some of the most infectious music released this decade. suffice to say i'm truly in love. i knew he could do it from his work with beyoncé. this is what i wanted from the new liam gallagher record, which was a disappointment - but ... read more

30 follower special <3

i wanted to do something special for 30 followers. something that showed where my music taste comes from. and behold just like my 20 follower review, it's lady gaga. duh.

released in 2013, ARTPOP was one of the most confusing albums released in the 2010s. lady gaga was riding a huge wave of success from the success of her album "born this way" which had hits like the title track and "edge of glory". with this success gave gaga a lot of ... read more

Dude Central - Where the Butterflies Go

this was really sweet :(( love u dude central

Maya Hawke - Chaos Angel
40

dear maya hawke, i love you, i love your acting, i love you so much. just putting that out there.

anyway this was so painfully bland that i actually thought i was gonna be trapped there forever. for a close to half-hour listen this felt longer and more gruelling than the arcas riquiquí remix album (it being 5hrs 50mins). the lyrics are so boring and tactless. the only saving grace for this is the phoebe bridgers rip-off with the vocals. and the mixing is nice i guess.

oh well that's so sweet, lovely listen. stress free.

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
60

do i think peggy has made a bad album? no. and this clearly hasn't changed because this is amazing

i could go on for hours about why this album is amazing. to condense my thoughts- i have made a pros and cons list

pros:

calls drake a pedophile

cons:

not much, maybe if he hired arca or someone similar to produce something here it'd stretch the experimentalism even further

edit- 82->80, this album is great but idk it just doesn't hit the same as LP for example
