yeahhhh For a debut album it's actually pretty well seasoned, it still has it's obvious amateur vibes but they clearly had an idea of what they were trying to get at here. Clearly doesn't feel as focused as "The Lonesome Crowded West", but neither did it really need to be. Especially not when they've got amazing songs here too. Like all throughout, actually. Some of the most creative songwriting and riffs you could find out there. Simple, easy to get used to, and always a complete delight to listen to any time from then.
They went ham on this record it's insane! If you ask me though I prefer the simplicity in Emergency & I and the ways they worked with it on there. Not to say this record isn't awesome in its own right though. Of course it's also awesome. The D Plan is awesome.
