I am pleasantly surprised with this album. I thought that without Offset, that this wasn't going to be as good, but I was completely proven wrong. They fucking killed it and there are a lot of good songs to take away from this project. Although there are some misses every once in a while, overall it was an enjoyable experience listening to this album. R.I.P Takeoff
Finally! An entertaining Drake album. I was really excited when I heard Drake and 21 Savage were going to make a collab album and even though 21 isn't on this album as much as I would like, I still really enjoyed it. Drake seems a lot more lively on this one compared to his previous projects like Honestly, Nevermind and CLB and 21 Savage kills it like always. This album is not meant to be taken seriously, and its bangers on bangers with a couple of slow songs thrown in there. While it's not ... read more
This is another example of an incredible artistic transformation. I remember discovering Quadeca when he made that diss track against KSI. If you would've told me that this would be the music he would be making now, I would've laughed at you. Firstly, I have to say that Quadeca is an excellent producer, and the production on this album is stunning. The album teleports you into an ethereal and spacey atmosphere and sometimes you feel like you're floating when listening to this thing. I think the ... read more
Holy shit Nas is HIM. Bro really said fuck it, imma make another insane run to add to my discography. The King's Disease trilogy has been very quality, and this might just be the best one. This album is just fucking quality throughout, and bro is just rapping his ass off. At this point Nas is just taking a victory lap, proving to the world that he is one of the greatest to ever do it. We gotta respect Hit-Boy too, his production is great and complements Nas very well. The production is like a ... read more
Even though it only featured Kevin Abstract, I really enjoyed this album. I think it's a cool homage to BROCKHAMPTON and kind of like a goodbye letter. Obviously, I think the most disappointing aspect of this is that it's not really a BROCKHAMPTON album, but it's still a really solid project.
This was a huge letdown. At this point you could tell that BROCKHAMPTON was not clicking the way they used too. This album feels soulless in a way, and doesn't feel like a proper send off. The Family felt like such a better send off than this and that project was just Kevin Abstract. There are a couple of enjoyable songs, but overall I didn't take much away from this project and I really haven't gone back to it.
Metro Boomin > DJ Khaled. This is such a fucking cool album. The homage to Pink Floyd in the album cover, the ghostly, dark, spacey production and the TRANSITIONS HOLY SHIT. The first time I heard the transition from On Time into Superhero I lost my fucking shit. There was so much effort put into curating this tracklist and you have to give Metro his flowers. One of the best producers of this new generation and one of the best curators as well. There were a couple of unnecessary features imo ... read more
Genuinely think Mori has some singing talent that she could use, but instead she raps and it's fucking horrible. P.S the I'm Greedy beat should've been given to literally anyone else because what a waste of a fire ass beat.
This album felt incredibly lazy to me. This album feels rushed, and you can tell by hearing some of these songs. KRZY TRAIN is probably the best example of this because the mixing on Travis's feature was horrible. The fact that Trippie put out every song on the album as a single makes it seem like he really didn't care about the music as much as the numbers. The album has a couple of redeeming tracks, but that doesn't make up for the fact that a majority of the tracks are very boring (and the ... read more
This album was truly one of the most shocking musical transformations I've ever seen. I was convinced Yachty had reached a dead end in terms of his music style, but he completely proved me wrong here. While it isn't entirely original, it executes the psychedelic rock sound very well and also includes some soul elements. the BLACK seminole. is genuinely one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard (especially the second half holy shit). Overall, this an excellent example of an artistic risk ... read more
This album was really fun to listen too. The album is relatively short but is packed with some incredible moments like the drop on I Saw or Drum. These mfs take almost every genre you can think of and combine it into some incredible shit.
