I really think that they are making a trilogy of mid with One of One , In Your Honor and this one. Although I can say that this one of the better ones out of this somewhat trilogy. It doesn't feel like they are doing much to build upon their sound and they just stick to the classic Foo Fighters sound like they've always been. I honestly don't mind the closing track being a piano ballad but you can't really take away the fact that its on a rock album and a piano ballad ... read more
It's sad because the first half was actually quite alright at best. That is until we get to the 2nd half with the very unamusing acoustic cut of the album. I really don't understand why they went with this but I really tried my best to enjoy the whole thing. Excluding Best of You which I have a huge appreciation for as it was the first Foo Fighters song I've heard, I ended up having to deal with a huge snooze fest of an album.
Somewhere City is one of my favorite indie rock albums of all time with its blissful emo sound and high energy storytelling. With Origami Angel releasing 2 more solid albums years later, its quite obvious they wont be slowing down anytime soon. However, with this project, I came into it with quite middle of the line expectations due to me not being too hooked with some of the singles that have came out of it. Not saying that its bad, it just didn't click to me enough to love it. Now after ... read more
Kind off a big letdown ngl. I feel like they are stuck to one formula and just applying it in such a poor way. A few memorable moments to be heard from this and that's pretty much the best words I could give about this album. Definitely one of their weaker projects.
Actually an overall really ear soothing project from the fighters of foo. Probably some of Dave Grohl's best vocal performances at that time.
Upon revisiting this album, the tracks are still good along with some bangers like Monkey Wrench, Everlong, and obviously My Hero. However, with most of it sounding like filler, it just brought down my feelings for this album. Quite a few skips and just sounds off putting at times. This album is still solid to me, it just lost its spark as time flies by.

Not bad for a debut album. There are a few skips and forgettable tracks but I'd say they did a good job in laying their foundation in the rock scene and brought a lot of energy towards it.
I initially gave Illmatic a 95 before this review which was months ago. I've never had time to fully return to this album prolly because it just never came to me to re-listen to it. However, that time finally came and I've come to realize how I have such a huge appreciation for this album and is one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time. I don't need to say much but Nas' is an absolute fucking legend in the hip hop scene with his level of rapping and how much he can ... read more
An overall great album which does what they did in their debut 10 times better. I can't help but realize that Thom Yorke prolly took back some direct inspiration from Moon Shaped Pool and used it in this album. They sound an awful lot similar with both their beautiful ballads and production.
Its funny that NF is trying his fucking best to accomplish the Eminem style of rapping with Dan Reynolds sounding vocals. The songs are aight at best but this whole album feels so bloated with all unnecessarily random noises in the background. Not to mention, some of the bars that NF raps on this album are so corny that Its just holding you at gunpoint to hear it. On the bright side, some songs like ' The Search ', and 'Time' are quite tolerable to listen to. But in the end, ... read more
I've played this album back around 3 times by the time I'm writing this review because I genuinely couldn't get enough of how amazing this album is. I genuinely didn't expect much and came in with an open mind hoping I'd come out of this satisfied ( which I happily did ). I gotta highlight how great the production is on this whole project also. Genuinely the most underrated album of the year by far. Quadeca is genuinely a rising star and I really look forward to what ... read more
I'm not familiar with Magdalena Bay and their past work but all I know is that people are going crazy over this album saying how its the album of the year. So of course I had to give it a shot. And what did I think of it? I think this album definitely laid the foundation for the pop genre this year because of how dense and psychedelic it feels. I absolutely fuck with this album when it comes to its creativity, great instrumentals and top-tier production. Personally, one of if not the best ... read more
Overall just a fun rock album which has its moments to shine. It does get quite irritating because it just feels insanely repetitive with its structure. Its nothing crazy at all. Just an album I don't plan on revisiting anytime soon.
Genuinely some of the most bland sounding shit I've heard in awhile. Besides a few standouts like White Iverson and Congratulations, nothing really grasped my attention at all. Vocally is average at best, lyrically sounds like something I pulled out of my shower last night and instrumentally the most generic beat you could think off.
I love the style this album consistently keeps up with its synthwave sound. It truly does stand out from all of his previous projects. Although it doesn't live up to the impact and greatness of After Hours which I personally think is his best project, it still continues the trilogy really well in the storytelling and mysteriousness aspects. Also love the Jim Carrey skits.
I'm at a fucking loss of words..... This album gives off Swans vibes but with a somewhat indie twist to it. And I'm happy to say that this album is absolutely amazing from its first note till the end. The opener ' lets get married ' is beautiful starting with some really interesting synths and kicking into a powerhouse of instrumentals. And the chaos kicks right after that with the intense screaming paired with what may be some of the best instrumentals I've heard this ... read more
