Listen to this well you wander around a gallery
The other day I was at the AGO gallery in Toronto, one of my favorite places to go to once in a while in the city. It’s got an easy transit route, it’s calm, peaceful and has some incredible art throughout. A favorite thing to do at the AGO is to wander around well listening to music for hours on end, occasionally drawing some of the pieces along the way. I usually get lost in the art when I do that and experience it unlike any other ... read more
My favorite Deerhunter record
Deerhunter is one of the bands that got me into music when I was younger, defining much of my taste during that time. My parents love them and used to play them all the time throughout my childhood cementing them as a staple in my life. When I decided to dive into their discography, I first started with their big records like Halcyon Digest and "Microcastle and as I got older I began enjoying Cryptograms and Turn it up Faggot. Weird Era Cont. I actually ... read more
A litttttle bit overrated
Drug Bug was the main member of Willy Rodriguez which is a staple of AOTY core. I can't lie I actually haven't heard much of their work besides the big hits like "Lost in Translation" and "Wetdream". They've been on my spin list for a long time, but I never really got into them (I promise I will sometime). When I saw that the main member of the band had released their sophomore release and the reviews were exploding I knew it was ... read more
My ears are charred and ringing
Over the past week I have been completely obsessed with Murmuüre’s self titled debut release. Atmospheric Black Metal is my favorite sub-genre of Black Metal and the fact I hadn’t listened to this yet is pretty amazing. Now that I have listened to it I can say this is not just one of the best Atmospheric Black Metal albums I’ve heard, but easily one of the best Black Metals albums ever. Murmuüre was the one man band solo project of ... read more
Not bad, but not my cup of tea
I understand why people might enjoy this, but I simply didn’t find anything that really rang my bell here. I’ve known of Tsubi Club based on their big hits so when I heard they had released a new record after a year and so away I thought it would be a good time to give them a shot. I definitely was fair since I listened to “Trinket” at least 4 times (to be fair it’s pretty short), but it never really stuck with me.
There were some ... read more
Ween is my favorite band, so I have the right to say that they can do no wrong
Their discography is proof of this. When it comes to artists and bands, a comfort zone or a style of music is seen as a necessity and something that has to be followed in order to keep their audience listening. Many artists find that style, perfect it and then never evolve from there. That isn't a problem, but is it any surprise that the best artists/bands are the ones who constantly push the envelope? ... read more
Fucking Peak
Most people love Led Zeppelin and treat them as the pinnacle of both stardom and hard rock. To young listeners getting into music Zeppelin is seen as gateway into the world of rock and roll as well as music in general. For me though Zeppelin was one of the few bands I was never very interested in and actually knew little to nothing about. I chose Pink Floyd as my journey into music and ultimately left Zeppelin in the rear view as I dived deeper into more experimental and niche ... read more
Disgusting album cover, terrifying as fuck.
This is one of the strangest albums I've ever listened to, being the debut of Comus a band I had otherwise known nothing about besides praise for their debut. That debut, First Utterance is such a surreal and creepy record with themes of pagan rituals and occult imagery. This is what interested me in this record to begin with since I really enjoy albums with themes like this (insert Geogaddi). Especially when they are done well and have a clear ... read more
Heartbreaking forever in a beautiful way.
I'm not a huge grunge fan which is something I'm not always proud to admit. I love metal and genres similar to it, but grunge to me will always be a genre full of cringe Eddie Vedder screams, lyrics that can't be understood and similar formulaic song structures (call me a hypocrite idgaf everyone is). That's why when i first went into Alice in Chains discography I expected a similar trend. For the most part it's true, but ... read more
The Third Eye is what mankind needs more of. Psychedelics and meditation change life. Open your third eye your life will be finally worth living.
"The unexamined life is not worth living" - Plato
I ain't no philosopher, but that statement can not be more relevant than now. Enjoy life, enjoy the eye, enjoy what you can not see, enjoy death. All are messages and signs from the supreme, they are sigils imprinted in us that are lost and hidden. It is your job to find them. Third ... read more
Heartbreaking album that reminds me how much I love John Lennon and aspire to be like him. (Besides the child abandonment and "Jon Lemon beat his wif!") What inspires me the most about him is his honesty. No album sounds as harsh and honest as Plastic Ono Band. It's a reflection on his relationship with The Beatles, heroine, Yoko, his mother, God and so much else. The lyrics and storytelling feel like John wrote down every word that has ever crossed his brain into this album. He ... read more
Very banging.
Awesome album at the gym and gets me so fired up for a lift. Elite during chest day, would recommend. Zach Hill's a legend, his drumming skills are incredible and fits Bach's guitar so well. Great math rock album.
Fantastic listen but why the fuck isn't the live version of "She Fucks Me" and their cover of "All of my Love" on here??? Two of my favorite live Ween songs easily
Big dipper, big dipper, big dipperrrrrrr
I love fellas on the moon, it's my personal favorite Death Grips album to listen to as a whole which shouldn't be ridiculous to say. It has some of the most weird and out there songs by the trio and comes together as a sort of creepypasta markipliar FNAF 4 2015 type video (That's a good thing though). There are a couple songs on the record that might be a bit too out there at times, like "Fuck Me Out", but even that one is so ... read more
Although not a follower of David Karesh shes a devoted branch devidian.
Boards of Canada have been a favourite of mine for a long time now, geogaddi is easily their peak both sonically and creatively. The duos first record Music Has the Right to Children had a much lesser theme and I found there to be inconsistencies, though it was still an impressive and concise project. When it comes to comparing it to Geogaddi though there is little to no competition. The record improves and advances ... read more

I’ve decided that for my first review under my new account, that I am going to start it off with a banger of an album. That is Metalcore classic and staple of 2000’s metal, Jane Doe by Converge.
Upon first glance Metalcore is in my opinion a pretty average sub-genre of metal. However before Jane Doe, the genre was not viewed as anything very special and rather just a mix of speed metal, mathcore and screamo. Well all three of these genres are exciting and feature great songs and ... read more
