Pinned Review

As horrible as 2020 has been for a variety of obvious reasons, it has allowed Ariana Grande to make an album without being strongly swayed by personal trauma or tragedy. While 2018’s ‘sweetener’ had Grande channel her unimaginable trauma from the 2017 Manchester bombing at her concert and the lighter, yet by no means shallow ‘thank u, next’ from last year saw her address heartbreak as well as the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, ‘positions’ sees her ... read more

To close the anniversary celebration “MC30” which included a long-awaited memoir and the release of forgotten remixes to streaming services, Mariah Carey releases ‘The Rarities’, a career-spanning collection of unreleased tracks, B-sides, and alternative versions of her favorite songs in addition to a full disc of Carey’s best ever concert - her Daydream World Tour show in Tokyo in 1996. The compilation is an insightful look into Mariah’s evolution as both an ... read more

As a lifelong stan, this is still one of the craziest things ever. Apparently at her peak Mariah made a grunge album.

On Sunday, Mariah Carey made waves in the music world when she tweeted that she recorded an entire alternative rock album during the recording of her landmark 1995 album ‘Daydream’. Fans of Carey linked her posted snippet to an album titled ‘Someone’s Ugly Daughter’ under the name CHICK. Mariah’s representative later confirmed that the album ... read more

This week, Louisville attorney general Daniel Cameron announced that no cops would be charged for the murder of Breonna Taylor, highlighting the unprotected status that black women in this country have. So, in response, the now-reviled Canadian rapper Tory Lanez decides to release an album about how he shot a black woman and how it is somehow HER fault.

Not like it makes much of a difference, but I actually did attempt to listen to this and somehow ignore the context. The ensuing music was ... read more

On the long-awaited ‘Nectar’, Joji improves in almost every major area and the resulting project is the best of his career. But the upgraded vocals, more complex production, and unique, seamless blending of genres is still not enough to make Joji shine whether on his own right or in comparison to his musical peers. At an unduly fifty-three minutes, ‘Nectar’ is home to discography highlights, but there is enough filler to prevent it from being a true breakthrough album. ... read more

I am horrible at writing hip-hop reviews, so I won’t try to write a full review that one of my few perfectly scored albums deserve. That said, considering it is my favorite hip hop album of all time by a good margin, I wanted to give Mobb Deep’s ‘The Infamous’ a quick shoutout as the weather begins to turn. Whether it is the violent, destitute lyricism or the gritty production, ‘The Infamous’ is inherently icy and a perfect listen as the air gets cold. At an ... read more

Hey! It’s Stankysauce under my new alias Alkaline Pink with my new debut Halloween mixtape on my new label Insomnia Café! This new mixtape is by FAR my best material to date and a total change of pace from my last project Analog Autopsy. I am done with that synthwave type stuff to embrace more loud distorted sounds, as I am going industrial this time around. I tried to make it sound as dark and nasty as possible to celebrate the spooky month!
Anyways, I hope you guys like it!

It's okay, and I'm very excited to hear your opinion!

Hey it is me Stanky Sauce under a new alias! I want Alkaline Pink to be a much more personal name with more meaning to the song titles rather than stuff just being as “random” as it was before. Anyways, this is my best song and I can’t wait to see what you guys think! I know you didn't like my last EP, but i'm hoping you'll find more to like in this!
