clipping. - Splendor & Misery
80

So it was the first concept album of clipping. Its a great tease of what they are capable of, especially the story telling as their strong side. Guess they have liked this idea so much that everything after Misery is one big concept too. And I'm glad so, they keep things interesting.

Wednesday - Bleeds
85

Loud and fuzzy rock mixed with steel guitar and sweet voice of Karly, who's by the way a great vocalist I think. Basicly my reaction: GOOD COUNTRY MUSIC?!

Frankie and the Witch Fingers - ZAM
100

Damn, I can't get over how little of attention this whole band gets, I'm pretty sure that if King Gizzard made this album or any of Frankie's after ZAM, everyone would be sucking on it like on a free bottle of water in the middle of the desert. Its so freaking good it deserves its own cult.

MGMT - Congratulations
100

There's not enough of modern surf music around. Deffinitely. In that case Congratulations feels like a blessing

Osees - A Weird Exits
100

Osees makes their oddly beautiful and polished love letter to 70's music, rock, kraut, psychedelics. Its really one and only in its kind, it sounds absolutely lost in time, I love how Osees can create something sounding both old and fresh, its hard to cathegorize in when and where it actually belongs. You can hear the colors and taste the sounds, thats how immersive it is. Also "The Axis" must be one of their best songs ever made, give it some love.
Still my favorite project they ... read more

The Dear Hunter - Waves
90

Rediscovering that one random ass song from my childhood. Its actually amazing.
How old I was back then? 13? Well, enough to believe that Waves was some kind of giant hit song.. and of course it never was

Fleshwater - 2000: In Search of the Endless Sky
50

Kinda a nothing really pie. Its exactly what would you imagine from alt-metal and shoegaze. Almost a poor man's Deftones. But, is it bad? No, just unexciting, flat.

Smerz - Big city life
67

I like the stripped and toned down noir-dreamy aestetics, even the almost deadpan vocals too, it just works, those girls sound wonderfull. Big City Life is almost an adorable album, but it feels way too empty for the most part, well that was the point, I just do not think it was executed that good, at least not that good as on few of songs. A side note? Some lyrics are, Ehhh, weird, almost corny or whatever, its hard to explain. Feisty honestly is not really a good song, at least in my opinion.

The Dillinger Escape Plan & Mike Patton - Irony Is a Dead Scene
95

Depression is a mental state that can occur due to realization that Mike Patton and TDEP did only one project together... And that they will never again cover Aphex Twin songs in Mathcore

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
82

No way those are the same people behind AM...

The Killers - Hot Fuss
50

The band that exists. The only killer thing in here is the album cocer

Pearl Jam - Vs.
64

I must admit I'm still not a sucker for Pearl Jam, they tend to bore and leave me without a spark. Vs. so far speaks to me more than Ten, there's few more of songs and moments that I actually really like, and which I find generally more interesting. Also this particular album does have both an absolute phenomenal opener and closer.

Tom MacDonald - All My Haters
0

Dude's a one man rage-bait factory, and I guess it works for his wallet. I can't take it seriously, I'm just concerned that there is someone out there who genuinely thinks that Mr.Macdonald is a great "artist" or whatever

Lightning Bolt - Sonic Citadel
85

Lightning Brian's did the grooves this time, this album is pure energy stored in liquid acid, average song in there is absolutely insane. Deffinitely an easier listen with more melody to itself than Wonderful Rainbow, but whatever, its the first work from this noisy duo that I really love so far

Deerhunter - Cryptograms
80

I have expected more grooves from this album, instead of the drone, layering and lush there is all over, but when its so immersive it just creates imaginery by itself, then I can't complain

The Knife - Silent Shout
92

Oh, Silent shout sounds like a heartbeat itself, even if its very technological and cold, full of completely
"non-human" elements, even its peculiar vocals too. Yet somehow its the most human-sounding electronic album I have ever bumped across.
Also thats a weird trophy to give, but its one of my top late-train music choices.

Charli xcx - BRAT
82

I've disliked a song from Brat a year ago and I never really felt like giving it an actuall chance. But I finally did so, its phenomenal, I bet everything was already said about it so thats all I am going to add, hype's deserved

Megadeth - I Don't Care
35

Literal shitpost

Geese - Trinidad
100

I just wanted to say its deffinitely my favourite song from them, the chaos in there is like it was written and performed by the Geese and the Goose, and Ducks on crack or something. It makes my head spin.
