McKinley Dixon - Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?

Some pretty cool conscious jazz rap on here and a very pleasant 28 minute experience. Wasn’t completely blown away by everything I heard on here, but hope it grows on future listens. Thier are some really great highlights of this thing, and I think that during the last three tracks that it ended very nicely off. Some of it works for me and some doesn’t.

MGMT - Little Dark Age

Really like the Atmosphere and soundscape that this thing has. It feels as if these songs could have come out from the late 70s and 80s. Really like what thier were going for and it works nicely. However i feel that the first half is a lot more enjoyable then the second. Nice Psychedelia would do with drugs.

Christopher Larkin - Hollow Knight (Original Soundtrack)
100

Honestly i'm going to be pretty biased, since this is one of my favorite games of all time. But stepping aside from the game and solely looking at the music itself, it is very gorgeous, melancholic, lush and beatiful all at once. These songs reek of tragedy, but also has a sense of mystery and feeling like you're slowly pieceing together on what events had occurred when you arrived. This soundtrack as always been my go to for when i needed to study or when i wanted to get hyped at some of the ... read more

twenty one pilots - Scaled and Icy

As someone who as now gotten into TØP, i can't help but feel that i was a little let down listening to this. First and last track gives it a great start and end to it, however the rest for me can feel like a mixed bag. Good Day is very Catchy and gives the album a great start. Im a little mixed on Choker because i do like the track, but the outro and rap verse kind of ruins it for me. Shy Away tries to go for the 80's trend that was starting to become popular in 2020 and 2021 and is ... read more

SZA - SOS
69

SZA is really great on here, and manages to show of her talent and skill very well as a vocalist. However i can't help but feel that this project could be better in my opinion. It suffers alot from being bloated and being all over the place sonically. I think that if you cut some of the tracks of off SOS that we could have gotten a more focused and enjoyable record. I still do enjoy it and some of the tracks are really great, but at times it can feel like it drags on more then it needs to.

JID - The Forever Story

JID is just great when it comes to rapping, like i have heard this dude on features and now hearing this thing for myself, i can certianly say that JID has more then proved himself with this record. From the start alone it has a great 11 track run that flows so well, and the rapping, flow, delivery and features are all great and make a fantastic experience. My overall complain is that some of the last tracks don't reach the highs of the first, but it still manages to have a great end to it ... read more

twenty one pilots - Trench

I feel that everything that I liked about Twenty-One Pilots is represented so well on here. From the memorable lines and hooks this thing as, to the great instrumentation and focus it goes for, it’s very great from front to back. As someone who came from Blurryface, not being to impressed by it, Trench certainly blew me out of the water on my first listen. Also gotta love the lore, story and plot that this thing goes through and keeps me very invested, love how much effort they put into ... read more

David Bowie - ★ [Blackstar]
100

How, like how can this exist, i'm absolutely stunned how Bowie managed to pull this off, and have it work so well. At the age of 69 and battling liver cancer, knowing he might not have had much time left, he made something so incredible that i'm lost for words on how to describe it. It's Bowie looking back at all that he has done, wishing he could go back, but knowing that he doesn't have much time left, and accepts his fate with death. It's haunting, harrowing and at the same time beautiful, ... read more

Bon Iver - 22, A Million

Bon Iver just keeps being consistent in his craft that it's unbelievable. I didn't click with this thing on it's first listen, but was still intrigued by it's weird and raw beauty, and man did it click for me. You wouldn't want to how hard it is not to tear up when listening to 33 “GOD” all the way to 8 (circle) on the bus. I'm absolutely in love with the electronic sound that Justin Vernon brings throughout the record, and i think it really elevates the emotions that he's conveying ... read more

I think everything about this record has been said and fully digested at this point, so i'll throw my 2 cents in and say that yeah, it's not good. To be honest Kanye is that Game Of Thrones, he started out having great masterpieces and shaping the hiphop landscape. Now, he has taken quite the donwfall, both in his image and his music. It doesn't sound finished and feels more like what could have been on most of these tracks, and the mixing on some of them are just awful. And for a collab album ... read more

David Bowie - Station to Station

In terms of the backstory behind this album, it most have been though to know what Bowie was going through, especially with his addiction to cocaine. I'm glad he managed to break that addiction later during his career, but for the sake of this review i want to fokus on the music, and well it's pretty good. It takes the funk and soul found on Young Americans and improves on it on every front, while having a great blend of other instruments to complement it. I also got to give big props to the ... read more

David Bowie - Young Americans

I have a bit of nostalgia with this album, i remember when i graduated 10th grade, that i was given this ablum, and really loved it. It's not one of my favorites that Bowie has made, but i do like the way that he tackled soul music, or "plastic soul" as he called it. I think when this album is focused, it can work great as a jam session, and does so from Young Americans to Somebody Up There Likes Me. The three last tracks on here aren't really as focused as the start and middle, and ... read more

David Bowie - "Heroes"

[LETS GOOO MY 100TH RATING WOOOO]

Ok so we could just say that this album is a classic, call Heroes the best song on here and leave it at that, but this record as way more to it. We follow the second instalment in Bowie Berlin trilogy as the follow-up to Low,and i gotta say that Bowie and Brian Eno are great at coming op with an idea and expanding it into something great. It's also incredible ones you get know that Robert Fripp, lead guitarist of King Crimson, improvised all the guitar work on ... read more

David Bowie - Hunky Dory

Simplistic but good. At this point Bowie is just about to peak, almost reaching the mountain top. there are some great songs on here, alot of them piano and guitar based , mixed with a little bit of rock at the end. I don't think that it has that same power as Ziggy Stardust or Aladdin Sane has, but it has some great standout momments on here, like Changes Oh! You Pretty Things and Life On Mars? It's definitely the step in the right direction and Bowie's first classic to be sure of.

You know i might prefer this over Ziggy, there i said it. Honestly this was the first album i listened to by him, and i think that it aged pretty well, even if i have some problems if it. I really enjoy the start, but get most gripped by the second half. The instrumentation and composition is great, and im absolutely in love with the piano on tracks like the title track and Lady Grinning Soul. Overall Bowie one ups himself on this record and brings a great variety and brings a great ... read more

For this being Bowie's most acclaimed album, it is pretty good. Great Riffs and very catchy hooks all throughout this project. It has a really good start and end to this thing. Bowie manages to give a great preformence on here, and if you liked the big grand feel of Life On Mars, then this thing as got you covered.

Really good for a B-sides project. Kendrick manages to give a great performance on this project ,and i kind of forget that this is even a B-side. It gives a good combo of TPAB and Damn and gives the record a great sense of soul and stuff you just want to bop your head to. Overall there is some really great material on here that is worth listening to.

Sampha - Process

As someone who came from Lahai, this was a very warm welcome to say the least. While his most previous record was more fast paste, Process can feel much more stripped back and raw, while feeling angelic and full of life. Sampha just really has a way of touching the soul and heart. A very great album that only becomes better with each listen, you could say that it was a Process in of itself.

It's a lot more dynamic in terms of the songs that are throughout this project. It has some great consistent bops, bangers and ballads sprinkled throughout it's 32 minute runtime. From someone who listened to her most recent project, i think that Be The Cowboy has a lot more flavor to it. Mitski has a great presence on this lp and slithers her way through it's great 14 tracks on this record.

This album has some really great bops, jams and some bangers along the way, however this thing can feel more like a vibe record then anything. The first couple of tracks start this thing very nicley of, however some of the beats on here can feel a bit Repetitive through the last stretch of it's runtime. Kali either brings some very great preformences or kinda halfs her way trough some of them. Nevertheless it's a pretty good vibe and an alright solid work for Kali Uchis.
